  1. A family I know here with the same spelling is pronounced "Fukes" rhymes with cukes (as in cucumbers).

  2. It's (Fooks) like 'fool' or it's a long vowel like 'You" or 'ewe' or U-Turn...(Fewks)(like above)

  6. My wife was involved in the Junior Achievement Program's Silicon Valley Bowl-A-Thon today, as part of the fundraising, the teams were given a bowling pin to decorate..

I took 2 to Billetproof last weekend, and Steel Phoenyx on here stepped up to the plate when I dumped them in her lap at the show....

Keri came up with this KILLER pin....

(Which we won back in the raffle Keri)

And fellow striper at the Panel Jam Ron Miller striped another one, which, with some construction paper, glitter, glue, some small mirrors & a piece of plastic railway line & 2 pairs of R/C aircraft tires and an empty shoebox, I managed to turn into this....

Ginger (My wife) managed to raise $255 this week for the cause.

The total figure for the event was over $10,000 today...Thanks again to Keri & Ron for the awesome work.

Jeff- This is the first I heard of Mr. Fuchs passing. I agree, the world lost a giant and one of the illustration world's biggest legends. Rest in peace Bernie!

Corvette Bob, your stuff looks surreal. Very nice. Thanks for the kudos on my first posting.

Thank you. The plate wasn't really my idea, it's actually on the guy's car that I used for reference! Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have posted that.

Thanks. I just meant that I'm humbled looking at some of the work posted here.

A great collection of work this week. I look forward to seeing more and posting some of my own stuff in the weeks to come. Thanks to everyone for sharing.

That's a sharp lookin' Coupe, Mr. Sinclair.

  22. I did this last weekend for my stepdaughter as a birthday present. Her name Victoria and she's just turned 14.
This is my 3rd attempt at hand-embossing. 32 ford Vicky . A4 in size.
Chassis swage, bottom body swage and up over wheel arch, belt-line swage and over cowl, swage over side windows are all embossed. As are the overall body, wheels and tires, grill , mirror and headlights. Its quite hard to get a decent pic that makes the embossing stand out.
Tire's got the rub with 120 emory cloth. The shadow and windows cot rubbed with scotchbrite cloth. the grill insert, wheels, mirror and headlight buckets got a quick polish. All outlined with a craft knife.
The personalised plate is not as clear as I'd like but Vic loves it with her name in it , spelt VIKKI .

    Shrapnel

The '90s Buick Roadmaster wagon had a roof window
similar to the Olds' Vista Cruiser. Probably easier to find.

    Great show everyone!
Tramp Warner and Donny Edwards broke protocol and went right to the triple-dog-dare. I haven't had a lot of time to post anything lately so I've gotten my chops busted. It's been hinted that I don't have a hair on my ass if I don't post something, and Tramp and Donny would post their stuff if I posted a piece this week.
This is a sketch for a painting called "Eugene's first joy ride". I'm leaning toward the xeno-octopoid.

There, proof positive I have a hairy ass!

Some old art of mine from 1997. Yeah I know that does not seem very old.
