To me, they just don't get much better looking than that! The lettering in itself is art...not many painters could get those fonts right today.
I absolutely LOVE this post! Thanks to all for the great photo's and history lessons. Now checkout the Mr. Norm Dodge, it has the early factory style AWB look I believe. Now checkout the early Don Schumacher Stadust Charger, Still has the AWB configuration but, it's much lower, has the motor set back and the driver is centered and to the rear. The "flip top" one piece glass cars are not far away. Please, feel free to comment... Joel
Stlouisgasser, Did the Seaton Shaker car have stock style rear suspension? By the looks of that launch that would be my guess. I know you know the answer to this. king
Great stuff; thanx to all who posted pictures! Van DerWoude with the completely gone trunk floor is a real trip! Does that mean I can torch out the trunkfloor of my Dodge to eliminate the rotted areas and not even need to patch it back up? Sounds good to me, but I'm no NHRA tech inspector! Good thing they can't complain about me taking 20inches out and bobbing the tail off like Greer did!
were they still using olds/pontiac rears at this time , or did they try the 12 bolt ...that group of pics shows the transistion of the wheelbase mods. cool stuff
