Something different but I don't go to Bonneville myself anymore. But I do like my car to go. So I have been loaning it and my trailer and firesuit to friends that want to try it out. Not the roadster but my Packard powered Vega. Runs around 155 with the Packard so far. has gone 208 with more power. Maybe someone around San Mateo area is interested in 2010. Also I have some Ford Small block 289-302-351W and 351C core engines free if you want them. mostly dissasembled.

  3. Wow thats a mighty nice offer Rich. Hope you find a pilot for your vega.-Weeks

This idea is really great . But it is very hard to find what people have to give away or trade for . Is there a way we can have another classified section for trading & free items ? Would be easier to find instead of posting messages all the time to trade or get something for free ! I am sure this was brought up but I am not going through 23+ pages to read everything !

I think, Brother Jim, the original intent of the thread was post up something, that someone might need, that you don't need ...........Period

    Read: free items.

You can post your "want to trade" and "what I'm looking for is", somewhere in the classifieds................

I think that's what has "kept it up" for so long, until recently, when some moderator types may be giving it a second look..............

    IF you catch my drift........................

I do understand clearly but I have seen some that I have this to give and I need this ! If you take something you give something , I can read and do understand !!!! I was just making a comment stating wouldn't it be easier to see what someone has instead of trying to read all the posts to see if there is something you need ! I don't think you understood what I was saying !

Yea , I have to agree with "stealthcruiser" on the free stuff post and do good for someone else but I was just saying to read between the lines before it gets closed . With the I need this & that the whole idea here is going to get lost with the wanted stuff and trade you for this and that . That should have a different area . The doing a good deed for someone that needs something you have laying around with no use anymore is loosing in the wanted & trade you crap ! I just got lost on the 10+ pages I read when it started to somewhat give the impression of a swap . I love the idea and don't want it lost ! That's all I meant but had to read between the lines !

Yes, the idea is and was great, but guys with stuff to trade or sell need to take that to the classifieds. If guys throw everything in here, the thread will bog down with verbiage & collapse under the weight. NO disrespect to anyone; let's keep pure to AxeMan's original ovation of a FREE 392 part.

I'm with you on this, maybe this reminder will help keep it on track. I can see how some didn't mean it was a trade but when you say "I have this and want that" thats how it sounds.

Yeah, Chopped, I don't think a lot of guys ment it that way. And I imagine they just wanted to use their post to OFFER osmething FREE, and STIll use the opportunity to jar another HAMBer's memory about osmething out in thier garage they may not need. I sure didn't mean to osund hard on anybody. If my back comes back around before the snow flies, I know I've got some stuff another guy can use.

But, it's been a busy year, THEN throwing my back out on the '38, so I'm screwed a bit. I'll sure as heck TRY to "pay forward"!

A huge thanks to Bbanks 12 for the Holley.

You too Saxon for the oil cap. Go back and read through my junk. I want to do my part now

  22. sorry i guess i didnt think about it but trading and just giving away are completely different. i do have a decent pair of 38 chevy car headlight buckets if somebody wants them, also a pair of brass velocity stacks complete with the mesh that goes in and out of the filter (no filters) tons of other shit id give away but this is just a quick look around the garage

  23. exactly.. this was the point of the thread.. i have grabbed a cople things off of here from some great people and always offered stuff for free (with shipping) to anyone who needs it in return, but there seems to be people popping into the thread without reading the original point or concept.. i have PM'd a couple people about stuff and got no response on things and PM'd one guy (you know who you are) and he deleted his post/offerings after realizing this was a FREE STUFF thread.. lets keep this thing honest and help each other out.. A thread like this can be a real life saver in times such as these and I would hate to see it closed due to people flooding it with their trade adds and wanted adds.. And someone touched on it earlier but the "I need this or that" should only be as a memory jogger to people, not a trade for what you offered.. Good Lord knows i forget about shit out in my shop all the time.. let's keep this thread going and help our fellow rodders and customizers out in these hard and troubling times without worrying about what we'll get in return..

Sounds like we are back on track here. After I get my back in order & get my '38 freed up & out of the forest, I'll go through my crap (er,uh, actually GOOD stuff! LOL) and put something up here -- even if i have to put on cold-weather clothes to get into my storage.

Great idea Axeman started, and I do think it can still work!

THANKS guys for staying in touch with the original idea.

it would help to put the item in classified too then put free in front of it in the tag on the top of the page. either free or trade. would help people browsing the classifieds for this stuff.

I have a couple of 53-55 Ford F-100 cabs, one in fair shape and second one someone put a flat top on it. They came with a couple 56 PU's in needed. Don't think these will ship hope someone can use them for something. Also have 4 doors, haven't looked at condition of the doors. More pictures available of the cabs.
