I see you're from Sweden, that explains your attempted English (and it's not bad but I don't think anyone understands what you want)...I think you need to explain further what you're looking for...I'm not familiar with "don't have room for the back side window"...what are you attempting to do...chop the top...??? Remove the glass...??? Replace the glass...??? Add to the opening...??? R-
Is your car hardtopped? slide in quarter windows are fairly simple. I have one in the shop I'll post photo's later
I think what he is trying to say is that he has no room for his side windows in the down position. So he probably needs something to slide in and out. But thats only my guess!!! Rat_Fink, perhaps you should ask Per Webb (RPB on here) about this. He designed the car in 2002. His car... RPW photo Barris/George Cerny solved the problem on the Buster Litton Ford by creating a sliding rear window. With the door open the rear side window could be slide in and out.

Yeah,the use of those stude fenders/headlights is ingenious. Good stuff! Man, early customs... You just can't beat 'em! There is so much good stuff to look at on that car. The whearabouts of the original Buster Litton Ford are unknown at this moment. But what I do know is that Andreas from Sweden is building a near (improved) clone of it. Plans are to have it all painted next summer.
Did 49 Merc (coupe to hardtop)lots of planing to make water proof. You first have to make window track for the rear of the door. Are you going to have vent window? I used 65 Mustang gaskets mounted in ss channel to seal at top of glass. This help get you started in your planning stage. TwoChops
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that taillight treatment sure looks exactly like the one on the Canadian shoebox that won an award in Santa Maria this past May... (but I don't have a photo of it)... Guess what goes around comes around... R-
Yes, I did the intial design back in 2002. The car was then owned by Daemon Löfman and "Wellsville", a friend of mine, did all the kustom work. The car was designed to have slide in frames for the side windows, just as Buster Littons Ford. Though the car was put to rest for several years and then sold to "Rat_Fink" who made it a running car. There won't be space enough to fit roll down side windows and I know that there was slide in frames started to be made out of copper (take a look in Lead News #27 page 42 to see the beginning of the window frames). Twochops: Very interesting! Can you provide us with photos of how you did seal the windows against each other as well as against the roof? Im currently in the process of buildning a -51 baby-Lincoln that will be a 2d ht when finished. I think "Rat_Fink" will be intersted as well!
It is the same taillight 1951 Oldsmobile. But Andreas cut of the rear edge of the rear fenders and repositioned the taillights at a slightly different angle so that the lights are now vertical. Dave York's Shobox was inspired by the Buster Litton Ford as well as the Keith Weesner Shoebox.... Very nice But this is not what we are waiting for to see... What we are really waiting for is more photos of TwoChops window treatment on his Merc.
Andreas' Buster Litton clone blew me away at the A-Bombers! It's rad- Dave York's car is fantastic also, I'd be proud to own either!

I made all my channels out of stainless.To seal better at beltline have the gasket go down farther than the beltline,you will have to notch your inside door moldings . TwoChops
these ones slide in and out.. pretty simple. glass slides and sits in a felt u channel with the fabbed up division bar glued on.
hey weez on your ford your headlight treatment seems to be more subtle, how did you get the effect (stude fenders)? sorry but I have only seen pics in mags or on the computer kinda far away from you neck of the woods....... great shoebox and some great art man!
