Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by JESSEJAMES, Aug 13, 2009.

  1. Finally found a copy of the new Garage! Great pic's,articles and ads. Darryl Roth's article about his dad was great! I had forgotten the story about the water-cooled machine-gun,in case the Hells Angels showed up,LOL!!! Those were fun times when we were kids...
    Good job Jesse

I don't have anymore welding questions but would love to know where you get your metal working tools from like hammers and the like . I would love to start attempting to make something but I don't know where to get all the hammers and things like that .

  3. Evilbay is the best place I have found if you want to pay what they are worth and get quality. Since your overseas craigsdump is beyond your reach I would say which is a bummer. I get stuff off of craigsdump for pennies of what it costs alot of the time. Garage sales I have found metal working tools among wrenches and other misc. tools. I bet you have garage sales there in NZ so try those. Lastly swap meets are great too.-Weeks

Yeah that darryl roth article left me wantin to read more, can't wait to get a hold of his book?

  5. Well, I am 18 and just want to weld in life. I just wanted to say I look up to you big time. I have always been a fan. I love your work and think your a great person. Two questions though.

1.) How would one get a job for WCC?

2.) I want to see a picture or two of your private garage!

Jesse,I think no one on here would mind seeing some personal shop pics and some of the tools you use and fabricate.Maybe thats fit for a new thread but you seem to check this one often.

  8. Thiking those steering arms on the roadster could use some bending upward! Cool piece and have you taught Miss James to weld yet?

Paid 2 years ago and I got mine and I'm sorry don't think it's that great. Not impressed and glad the sub wasn't a heafty sum. I don't need to know what to wear or what a former BMX or whatever is doing now. Looking for a good hot rod mag thats all.

  15. just looked at it today and really dig it...only wish there was more Jason Jesse in it!

Jesse do you have a site that shows off your current shop ?? enjoyed your last show and was amazed at all the tools you have collected since MM1,2 & 3 .

and keep being you my man and i have mad respect for you and the skills you have aquired thru hard work and the willingness to learn and continually improve your hands on skills .

if you had a choice of a yoder or a pullmax type machine which would be your weapon of choice , i,m looking for a shop project along with the english wheel i plan to build i,m leaning towards a pullmax due to it,s versatility

I've seen that show. How much flying have you done before they let you give that bad boy a try?

  24. I sure miss that store, she would source almost any mag you could ask for.

Jesse, thanks, that's incredible footage of many a man's dream, flying in a P-51. Who is the background music?

If you guys really want to get a ride in and fly a P-51...save your pennies for next years U.S. tour of the Collings Foundation's B-17, B-24, B-25 and their dual cockpit P-51...
    I've flown in the B-17...unforgettable
