Sunny day June 14th 2008. An old truck in a Junkyard.

In June 2008 I went with my son to the CTC Autoranch a large junkyard in Denton Texas. Had asked me for days to go to this junkyard and finally we had some father son quality time together looking at hundreds of old cars.
We found this Ford COE 1947 and at the time we did not what it was nor did we realize at that time that following year October 12th 2009 (Columbus day) we would return and buy the truck.

TexasHemmi, cool little story about your truck. I can't think of nothing better as a father & son project as a old truck/car. Hope you enjoy the Hell out of it.

I haven't looked at all the pages but woww what a bunch of cool trucks. I don't know if his name has come up but Carson Rose ferom Upton Wyoming has probably built more COE's than anyone out there. Don't know if he's still putting them together but he used to build 1 every year. All of them cool and all different

Kooscoe thanks my customer is real happy. Sometime next year I will have the cab here to finish it off. I just don't have room for another big truck in the building now Danny.

I've got a 2004 Dodge diesel pickup that needs a "face-lift", put long swoopy fenders front and rear and a 12' pickup bed on it, should be a nice cruiser.

Yep, I was watching that one too. I appreciate the photo of the cab in the pickup bed, gives a real nice sense of scale to these older coes.....

    Cheers,
    Cris
