It has been unearthed... chopped, channeled, olds powered, custom interior, and not too much worse than when it got parked in 1969.
very cool. is it yours. any more history on it?? the 40 headlights on 36 fenders is pretty crazy looking. gotta see more. side profile.
wow. Edmunds 2x2 and looks like it had chrome exhaust manifolds.. 40 dash and laker pipes.. hmmm, the 57 has 54 grille? ..
Holy*****! Maybe Harrison Ford can play the lead role in a movie about this. Truly amazing that all this stuff still exists. Thanks for sharing!! JT
Sweet car, I too would like to hear the story. Wouldn't mind having that '57 ragtop either. How do you keep finding this*****?
Holy-Cow .... the HAMB folks continue to bring out great dreams for us all to be a part of. Such a beauty....
I will take it! I thought your wife and daughters were great when I came to pick up the 390, I would adopt you, and your family for that car
I don't know the full story on it yet. I've been drooling over it for about five months but it's literally been buried behind cars, tires, and lots of stuff for a really really long time. I couldn't only see the grill and engine when I first saw it. The man that owned it passed away this summer and had LOTS of really neat stuff and EVEN more not really neat stuff. He just had lots and lots of stuff. A friend of mine was contacted to help clean up some cars and sell them for the widow. She's super nice and has quite a job in dealing with all of this and adjusting to the loss of her husband. I know she's been overwhelmed with offers, advice, and everything else too. We made a verbal deal five months ago but the car couldn't physically be moved at the time. They called again last night and said it was ready to move. I'm supposed to pick it up on Tuesday of this week. I did not make an offer on it and I did not haggle. The cars were professionally appraised prior to any sales in order to protect her interests. There were about 40 cars in all. Some really neat stuff. 57 chevy convertible custom, 57 nomad, 57 coupe, 65 vette, 67 camaro, 69 camaro, 64 impala, and more... All tucked away in the house and buried for 30-40 years. Most super low mileage original cars too. There have been many twists and turns in this deal and it's one of those things that I'll believe when it's sitting in my driveway with the****le in hand this week but I was back there this morning confirming our deal for Tuesday. The coupe was purchased from a local police officer in the 1960's and was parked in the late 60's by the current owners after the master cylinder failed in downtown traffic on a date. The car was safely limped home and never saw the light of day again. I don't yet know who built it or when. I just know that I've loved it from the first time I saw it. Every now and again, a car speaks to me and this one does.
