There was a post not to long ago about these.. was there not? what a cool find.. congrats.. dang things are coming out of the woodwork down there.. all we got are old newspapers between the walls to keep us warm.. .
Not really a super exciting story is it? Didn't find it at a garage sale for $1000 or anything like that. I'm just glad the car was saved and made available for a new life. I am excited that she is choosing me to have a shot at it. The paint is peeling in a few places but there are no dents and the only rust I've found is in the frame and it's fixable. It's was show quality at one point. It's got just enough scars to still be completely badass and unquestionably authentic.
Holy*****, a custom 36! or is that a hot rod 36? either way... holy ***** a bad**** 36. Congrats on the find and purchase. I cant wait till tuesday, post pics will ya? Jeff
Do you have any initial feelings about whether you want to keep it or is it going to be available for purchase? This would be one I'd consider keeping and forgo the urge to "cash in". It would be wonderful to get the Master cylinder issue straightened out, make sure the brake system was up to par, clean it up, get it running and see how it drives. Keep us in the loop (with pictures) on this one. Frank
Fantastic find! Keep us updated with more photos! "Parked forever after the master cylinder failed on their date". Wonder if there was an argument involved that night that caused the otherwise perfectly running car to be permanently parked!? Something along the lines of "I'll never ride in this again" deals. Fix, the master cylinder, fire it up and drive it!!!
It's no score yet. Just a deal that we made five months ago. Lots of people still trying to get in on these for profit and most****ume that she is completely helpless and knows nothing. I now know of at least two dealers that are trying to get in on these cars. I don't envy her despite the money she will make. We made a commitment to do this and if she sticks to it, this car will be at my house tomorrow. I hope that she stays true to her word. If not, a dealer will have them up for sale before long I'm sure.
