It`s been alot of work, but I got to drive it today after buying a brand new carb. The thing moves pretty damn good. Waiting on the replacement radiator, and still have to tune it. It has the 03+ Crown Vic IFS,an Explorer 8.8" rear with 3.73/posi,a Mustang T-5,302 roller short-block with iron GT40 heads,Trick Flow Stage 1 cam,Crane 1.72 roller rockers,Torker II intake and a Holley 650 DP. Felt reallllly good to drive it finally!
TOO COOL! The wheel choice is dead on too. I've been day dreaming of a unibody build in my head forever now... and what you did with the wheels is nearly identical to what i've been thinking. -Chris
14-gal aftermarket mounted behind the rear axle. Filler comes through the bed floor, but I have that hidden....
Awesome! That truck looks good. The only thing I'm not totally fond of is how the front wheels are set so far out, but otherwise the overall look is dead on. Is the truck lowered any? If so, how? Do you have any pics of the Crown Vic IFS installed in the frame? Cool truck --Matt
I f`d up when I ordered the front wheels and forgot to measure for caliper clearence, and had to run 1.25" spacers up front for now until I can afford to buy another pair of wheels that will tuck better.
Thank you sir,I see lotsa talk about people doing it but have yet to see a post about another that is running/driving. BTW,your truck was a bit of motovation for me.
I'm looking to buy a uni, but it is missing the doors and i dont kow if they are the same as regular cab trucks. Do you have any insight, and caould i get a few pics of the front inside of the bed, the one im looking at has rust through behind the doors and dont know how ii is suppose to look. thanks
Awesome man. Always feels to good to get behind the wheel of a project again.... Those rear wheels look killer.
Great looking truck......... makes me wish I still had mine... sold it 35 years ago and that is the only one that I regret selling.... still look for it. Hang on to yours...
hows it drive with crown vic im glad to here that you have spaces on the front i was bummed on the wheel placement looks great
I've got fresh blades for the sawsall. Maybe some Saturday after breakfast........................ Looks good Jim.
Jim, that truck looks like poop! I think you should trade my daughter for her cor-sick-a and call it even. She would be happier with it than you will ever be. HAHAHAHAHA. HONESTLY..... it looks great, cant wait to see it in real life at the pile-up. It will be there wont it? Are we going to roll out there together with Mark and Mike? shoot me a pm and we can work it out. MIke.
New radiator showed up today....long story short i got to cruise it for about a half hour tonite. Stell needs to be tuned, but it runs,it drives,it stops and it`s MINE!
I was wondering what you could do for a more "traditional" wheel setup for the Crown Vic swap. I've been thinking about doing it to my bumpside, but I didn't want to have big blingy wheels on it. When you get new wheels with more clearance, are they gonna be the same style? Cause the truck looks great.
