I recall as a kid growing up the next door neighbor had a '58 wagon. 361 torqueflite. We were all used to Fords. Dad had a '59 Galaxy. I remember how crisp the shifts were on the Dodge and how it seemed to just be getting it's legs about the time the Ford was running out. What a aircraft carrier.

As to style.......I think Exner got demon possessed sometime after the beautiful clean little T-Bird.

That was somebody's dream car when ordered, very cool. My Dad is always bragging about how cool his 59 Plymouth Fury was. I thought so too but used to get under his skin by calling it the batmobile.

What a really good find ! She looks real nice but shame about the seat covers . I am sure somebody still makes them . I really love those Dodge's from the late 50's and early 60's with those big fins and the headlights that are so mean looking ! Now those were the days where cars had great personality and body lines !
    Damn nice car !

Haven't seen one of these in a long while! My cousin had a black convert. Dragged it
outside from a barn fire only to let it rot away. Told him it would be very rare someday
    and worth restoring, but NOOOOOO......
Good to see one that was saved AND preserved. Very nice example!

  17. That is one of my favorite cars ever. A big block black 59 'Dodge hardtop! I would sell my 57' Pontiac Laurentian for that car in a second!

Great car, and glad to see you on the forwardlook.net site too. ;)

When I see the pictures of your big Dodge, I get reminded of the lyrics to Cream - "Politician". Great song too, you should get it and cruise.

Is that the original paint? Being a real D-500 I hope there are no plans to customize it. Shame about the seats but hopefully you can just sew in new inserts and not replace everything. Great car.

I think our "friend" Moochie may have been the ***hole that cut the seats!
