Ok Im stuck, Im changing the wheels on my 54 Olds, got some 55 buick wheels. Now I have hit a dilemma, Im not sure what color to paint them. I thought silver or gun metal gray but Im not sure it would look right, any suggestions?
If you're using wheel covers, may as well paint them green like the car. If you're going with hubcaps or spider caps and trim rings gloss white, cream, or a slightly lighter green would be contrasting and complimentary colors for the wheels.
Copper or bronze works well with green. If you take a look at some Larry Watson pictures, you'll definately find something that goes with your shade of green. He's the absolute master of color combos in my opinion.
Gold...Turquoise, Purple, obviously white, some blues, vanilla shake, oyster, charcoal, most pearls... R-
Light tan, khaki tan, light yellow, gold, or the shade of green you have on your roof work nice. Black is good. An off-white might even work for you! Here is a wheel on my '37 Terraplane. Khaki tan, on a similar green to your car. I'd consider khaki tan without whitewalls on yours, since khaki compliments both greens on your car.
I like a nice fade paint scheme with spider caps and mini trim rings. Yours would look good green and cream. Heres a couple shots of a set Jeff Meyers (Fink'd ) did for me. Gary
same color as the top and the dash- make them all match. That's a "cool" tone of metallic green ( looks like), so a warm non-metallic color would make a nice accent: maybe cream.
No offense but I got a real good laugh out of that one, just didn't expect it. As for your wheels I agree that cream would look nice. Ryland
That is cool. I think the cream, copper and roof color are good suggestions. Burnt or dark orange might work too. Nice looking Olds. Great color.
