Who's rewired their '55-'57 Chevy truck?

Mine is a 235 manual. If you rewired yours, what did you use? Were you happy? Did the kit have everything you needed?

Rebel Wire will do you right. HAMB discount and all....

 

Used all three major wire companys. rebel is hands down the best for the money. In saying that you will have to furnish a few things the others have in the kits. But these are things most of us have in the garage anyway.. IMHO

 

anything but "it's a snap" they suck monkey butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all the others i've tried worked out well. IMO rebel wire

I used the $100 repop harness that now costs a few hunnerd bucks. This was about 5 years ago.

used it on my 57 chevy.... Bel-air its a generic wiring harness. its 21 circuit so its got alot of crap you dont need but its cheaper than most 8 circuits, so just cut em away and tape em up. This kit was complete and ready to go. all wires are labeled and color coated. this encorporates the modern mini fuses good luck. if this ebay item sells out just type in EZ wiring and another one will pop up

 

I used an original version because of the generator from Classic Parts of America. Not to difficult butconfusing at times. Did notice they were short some of the Bargman connectors for the headlights and got no where with their customer service dept. Ended up picking them up at a swap meet.

 

I use my dad he builds his own and uses GM color code . I never really understand why these guys that build everything from ground up cant wire a car ?

 

I used a ron frances bare bones kit and loved it. was easy to use. I used a chevy kit on my 52 mopar and even with that it was a cake walk. BUT Try a HAMB vender if we have one in these times we should support our own. Bob

 

rebel. do it. do it. its cheap labeled well and they use the good stuff.

 

I won't suggest a manufacturer, but buy one ready made for your truck. I've found the generic ones to be way more work than they are worth if you can buy one that already fits.
