Hey dont make fun of my mother's driver Melvin"RED" Foote. That was just the way it was back in the late 50's to early 60's when that picture was taken. That was not his racing clothes, it was more like a t shirt and jeans. Most likely a after the race shot. I asked my mom about the picture and all she said like the quote of the old lady off the movie Titanic was "Ill Be Dammed"

She is Gloria Diaz Miss Universe 1969.

There are very few good pictures of Asia's third Miss Universe winner and Philippines' first during her reign. In fact those pictures of her in the internet showing her winning moments are not as beautiful as compared to her contemporaries'. Lucky enough, I've found out some pictures of her that can be considered precious. It's pretty obvious these were not taken in the Philippines but probably in one countries where she has visited.


Gloria Diaz won the Miss Universe 1969 in Miami, Florida. She won during the first time they introduced a question and answer portion in the finals.

I haven't seen this posted, so I thought I'd mentioned that Glynanna Ham was the first Nationals queen at Great Bend Kansas in 1955. Glynanna is the wife of retired NHRA Division 4 Director, Dale Ham.
