Here's my sedan delivery with the original lettering. It used to belong to Weatherford Motor Parts. Car had been repainted and re-lettered over the years.I'm eventually going to put my own signs on it.

This is the original lettering on my truck. I plan to keep it that way. You can barely make out a previous lettering job underneath.

    Hey,

The white, the yella & the lite blue sure covered better when it had lead in it!

Here's a job I did for my friend Darrell at Southern Speed Shop. We were rushing to get it done for a photo shoot that never happened, that's why the lettering was being done at the same time as the chop.

    xtralow,
There used to be a sign painting school years ago in California somewhere, if my memory is correct. It may still be operating, I really don't know.
I bought a handful of lettering quills and some One-Shot back in '78 and just started slingin' it. If you were to see pics of some of those first signs, you'd understand my use of the term "slingin'". It was horrendous! haha
I guess you have to have a little "artistic talent", which is something that can't be taught, it's like it's either in there or it's not. If you do have a touch of it, check out youtube and see if there are some videos that might get ya started.
I also remember some books back in the day that dealt with hand-lettering. Maybe do a google search and see what's out there. Good Luck!
