I love it when a plan comes together....:D I finally got a 55 2 door, a hardtop car even...... of course it needs the 80's infuence removed, but it is pretty solid underneath the car, it kind of runs (327 /th350 ), and best of all, I bought it for $6500.

These are the only pictures so far, but I'll get some more soon.

Man you did score. $6500 is a great deal. Different wheels would be nice but why not roll with what you have?
    Good job.

The car is very confused at the moment, 1980's rocket side pipes, 90's alloy wheels, a very groovy 70's tufted backseat, mid 60's front buckets and console........and the bowtie embroidered sun visors are a masterpiece.......

I can handle the wheels for a while, at least until my finances recover enough for some vintage ET's or torque thrust's, it even has good radial T/A' s, but the pipes and the autozone accesories have got to go........

The paint is horrible, the body is wavy enough to surf on, but the weird thing is that for all the bondo, the insides of the panels feel pretty straight. I'd say someone got a good deal on bondo, and felt obligated to use it....

nice job, Chris. You are quite the negotiator. I have some 14" Torque Thrusts that are like new. Tires mounted, too. Might take those side pipes as a partial trade!

Good score there, I'd say the multi decade accessories saved you a lot of serious money. I'd say that the first order of business is a trip to the muffler shop and get those leg burners off before your significant other gets a permanent grid work on her leg. I saw a few of those cost guys some nice girlfriends back in the day. know one gal who still wears the brand on her leg from one.

Way Cool! I agree, the wheels do **** ***! But thats an ez fix. Whats the floors and inner fenders like? I had a 53 F-100 that had about 10 gallons of doe on it, stripped it and it was a straight *** old truck. Some people keep smearing it on instead of sanding high spots.

Yep, ***hat, I am serious. Cars are an ac***ulation of years and owners, decades of fads, budgets, time, and effort. This guy got a great deal on the car, and may or may not have $$$ to spend on it. Do you think that there are only todays perceptions of "traditional" to abide by? If that car were mine, I would roll in it EXACTLY as it is until I wanted to change it. Nothing is wrong with it, only what YOU percieve as wrong. You do respect tradition, right? Maybe that 55 was rescued from the crusher when Van Halen was hot, or when the VC were hot.

Regardless, I want to see it on the road, not stuck on a lift trying to conform to a popular idea of traditional.

Hit the library, loser. There is a whole world of knowledge out there.

you guys play nice now......The plan is to change the wheels, the ones on the car are not ugly, they're just not my style. Until I find the wheels I want, they'll stay, I am not offended by them or anything.

The floors and braces are awesome, inner fenders are in good shape as well.

paint the wheels black and they go away,or red if you like red wheels .how about some hubcaps? the pipes could go to a worthy R--R---R,nice driver w/a **** ton of potental.just take the 'ugly'away

Excellent. I love this forum. I'll race on the thinnest of excuses. Mostly, I like an excuse to get it out. Show us the engine, ******, and whatever detail pics you can take.
