Just painted the rally rims on my 66. Going for the drag truck/push truck look. I want opinions...good or bad. Don't hold back. GF sez they're fugly. Should I stay with yellow, or go white, or dark gray? Should I go with the trim rings...and/or rally caps...or stay necked? BTW, the front end is up cause the engine was pulled to rebuild. What say you fuggers...

    After.

I liked it before as well. Just looked cleaner. The yellow is a bit LOUD in my opinion.
    Nice truck though!:)

I like the wheel without trim rings but the color is too loud for me too. I can see them a cream white and lowering the truck.

    You said "Don't hold back!"

I don't care for them at all. I think white might look ok, or silver.

If you are going for a Moon look, I would be tempted to repaint the truck yellow and do the rims in white with caps and rings.

    Sorry... You asked!

Since you're asking for opinions, I think you could get away with almost any color you want with proper steel wheels. This is just my opinion, but rally wheels look very out of place on the '60-'66 trucks. Trim rings and center caps don't help your cause either.

A lot of guys love rally wheels, not me. Even on muscle cars and blazers, I hate them. No offense intended to any rally wheels nut huggers, lol. If it was me, I'd go with era correct regular steel wheels painted glossy black or GM frost blue with some chrome lug nuts. That would look so killer on your truck. Skinny whites would make it perfect.

it wouldnt look bad if you put moon discs on it, and it would go with the race/push truck theme

I had to post on page 2 because the yellow hurt my eyes on page 1. I would suggest steel wheels (non-rally), trim rings and chrome hub caps. Paint the wheels a contrasting color that isn't yellow (blue, black, charcoal, etc.).

    I need some Visine...:p
