I don't know about this. Silver seems kind of hard to do. (Maybe it's just a crappy Photoshop job?:D)

  2. I could have used your pic, but it was a lot less work to find a better one.

  3. Touchpad? Nothing like making life hard for yourself!:D
I´ve still never used a graphics tablet. I really must try it one day.:)

James, I think you sent me this a year ago. Now its almost ready to fire up but I am thinking of white/silver/titanium-ish color. Can you do your magic so I can get a feel for a lighter color.

    Thanks so much.

  5. Hi Brian. glad to hear you´re nearly done. Did you post a build thread?
    Here´s a kind of platinum/silver/white.

Thanks James. No build thread because I am keeping the details quite, but the outside is looking good now with your help. I will send you some pics in a couple weeks. Could you PM me a shot without the front bumper?

Also, I'm not sure if it was mentioned already in this thread but what would you recommend is a good beginner software for photoshop? Or is there?

Do you know about the 37 LaSalle that was built in San Jose for a guy in Germany?

    Thanks,

    Brian

James could you possibly take the bumper guards off, clean the bumper up, paint over the turning signals and take the rest off the grill off after the turning signals, Lower the teeth a little and take that bar out from below them. Maybe a Flat red to go over it. Could you also french the headlights. Thanks

OK can someone take a shot at this? My new project is a 1947 chevy coe. I want it lowered, with a uhaul type box on the back, semi stacks and would like color to be dark green scallops with a white body. But whole front of truck green and scallops on the box....

  9. Hey my best friend just picked up a nice 50-51 buick 4 door and wants me to paint it. He is thinking metal flake green with a white/cream roof and I told him to match the roof with the body line in the center off the hood and maybe down the side. and lower it down. Can anyone shop one up so i can try and explain it better to him? and maybe any other ideas that would work for a car like this?

That turned out bad ass how do you do your coloring? are you using the brushes or doing it with the path tool some how?

  11. I use both paths and brushes, and just mask off areas.:)
    But mostly just practice!

Gimp is a freeware program having many of the same features as Photoshop but without the cost, its free. Follow the link for a copy.

Here is a website that deals with cars and photo manipulation, although its tuner cars, the techniques are the same.

A better photo would help a lot.:) The photos you provided are washed out, so it's a bit hard to make it look good.

BTW, very nice job on your first Photoshop job!!!

Outlaw, good first attempt, you know whats going on. Its all about practice and familiarity with the program. I have a good companion program thats really useful and its FREE. Its called "A to Z Clipboard".
Its a multi clip clipboard and will hold 25 cuts/copies. I use it when I chop tops and section, could be used for many things and it will work for text as well. Follow the link for a copy.:D

    Does MS Paint count ?

Here is a quick "MS Paint" custom I did for a co-worker.
He does not have pics of his 4 door yet, so I did a GIS.

I recommended he start a thread on HAMB for his custom, for a "build diary".

Please let me know if I should tell him to not bother.

    Sandrailmag,
MSpaint works, but you are soooo limited. Get a free copy of Gimp, freeware that is close to Photoshop, only free. See posting 2241 on page 113 of this thread for a direct link to a download. If you figured out how to mess with photos on MSpaint, you'll be amased how much easier it is with a good program.
