What are you bringing to the drags???

that happened to me a few years back except he watched me do 2 of them. best part was that i had put a camera on the back of a truck to film it. he just asked what was going on and i replied " getting rid of tires" he just laughed and said next time find another way to get rid of them. its on youtube.

 

Same thing happened to me in the July of 2008 ,except i didnt lay any rubber or even break the speed limit.I was getting on the freeway with my wife riding shotgun.I ended up getting a free ride to the county jail in double locked handcuffs ,by a rookie Sheriff,who charged me with "Racing on the Highway" and it cost me $1620.00 for bail and to get a lawyer to get it knocked all the way down to an excessive noise ticket (which is what it shoulda been to start with).I wish we had cooler cops in my area .Open headers and 4.57 gears with a 4 spd must sound like Hell around a bunch of under passes.I didnt even cuss at the guy until i was under arrest and on my way to jail,since i had nothing to loose at that point .I dont know ,maybe it was my car that he didnt like.Funny thing is i hadnt even been pulled over for 11 years prior and havent been stopped since.No more street / strip cars for me...

 

I know about that! APD had me in there nice jail from 8:00 pm friday nite to next day at 3:00pm. that at the weekend of Lonestar Round Up. But no charges

Not all cops are jerks (so dont get me wrong),but the one that pulled me over had a major chip on his shoulder ,and i could tell he was used to having people pee down their leg at the mere sight of him ,and i didnt ,and i think thats what got me arrested.He had the leather gloves with the fingers cutout ,"Sargent Carter Flattop",etc.The laws in Texas on Reckless driving and racing have drastically changed since '03 when they changed from simple traffic violations to criminal offences and it can be an expensive lesson to learn as i did.Thats why i haul my car to the track on a trailer now ...

 

It looks like we're going to have lots of fun at DOTD!

 

O'shit you got a race truck this year, bad ass. They even let you do burn outs and not get your ass in trouble.

HEADS UP....I just talked to Hutch(track owner) and he said that "everybody" running a car thru the 1/4 mile is gonna have to wear a helmet...soooo, drag out that ol helmet that is sitting in the closet and bring it....or it sounds like you're gonna have to borrow somebody's helmet at the track.

I got it together this past weekend.....Whooohoooo.....it only took "51 weeks".....hahaha
I swapped out the M/T "super sticky"("now for sale")29x10.5x15 slicks for some Hurst capped pie crust "less sticky" slicks.....I am interested as to how it is going to launch now....and interested to see if I can keep "all of those little gear teethie things" on the pinion. It got too rainy on Sunday to go out to try it out(something about 2 miles of muddy road to get to the asphalt). Looking forward to Friday nite/Saturday.

And to Saltracer......Whoooo, what a cool car !!!!....I want to talk with you about next year's Bonneville racing.

I thought it was 13.99 and faster that you had to have a helmet with a closed car, and all open or convertables.

You move fast when it's time to race, glad that old hotrod is ready. Heard anything from Casey? I guess he's not coming cause no BS has been flying on here. Who will take over the flathead title this year? This would be a good time for Ryan to slip in with that old sleeper of his.

My buddy Gary and me are bringing this to take the crown back to Louisiana. We won the roadster class last year with my son's car and we're looking to repeat (sort of).

 

they will have to lock me up, or bury me before I miss a race at little river!

the coupes clutch is what I had to work on, the tremick 6 speed trans is fine and good for 700 hp so I`m not afraid to break it like Ryan who will not race me
