This shot was taken about 2pm Sat 10/10/09 by Rusty Gems brother Joe Becker. He took the shot in order to send it to Adriene. It was the perfect time to take that shot .

 

Interesting;
The two people guessing were only off one hour by "sundial time" since 2PM is with daylight savings time and it's "really" 1PM.
Good observations guys!

Is there supposed to be anymore signage between "Bob's" and "broiler".....? That gap between the two words looks excessive, like the disc should be across 5 foot.

Yep, It looks like the disc should be moved bit to the right...like this.

 

What time is the cruise on Thursday night? I will be in Torrance in the morning till early afternoon after this on my way back home to Tempe Az. I would like to stop by and show up for this cruise with my newly finish 1932 Hot Rod Lincoln let me know.

Cool.....glad it's not just me! Even the side of the disc looks to have allowance for it to be moved across with that gaping hole in the underside. Hope it gets moved across a little. Other than that it looks great.

 

How is 5pm for every one? We'll be training so we'll have a full house inside of employees.

FWIW, I opted for your complete image shown in your post .
The city controls the placement of the signage-it was in the agreement, so that it where the disc ended up being.

The fonts on your image were right on and we even tried the cursive on the original. It was deemed to small to read, so it was decided to go with a type similiar to the original, It came out slanted because of the architectural rendering ( it wasn't susposed to lbe slanted ).

Well, with all that I'm still happier that a pig in sh*t that we as a group have it back, so come and enjoy what is here again. It's
sureal to be able to hang in there again-will even enjoy it more when period cars are under the canopy eating chow.

 

The sign is OK...just (maybe) needs some graphics to fill in the blank spot
I'm no graphic artist, but you get the idea...

 

Adriene is doing very well, she hopes to be out by Fri. We may or may not see her at the opening It's still up in the air. Analisa did say that her spirits were high and even joking about all things broiler related and not .

This kind of op requires a 5 mo recovery period, but if I know Miss A. she'll be up and rolling just as soon as she feels well enough. She has already been up walking .

Maybe on the one side you could sneak up there some night when no one is looking and add a h,a,m,b, between the two and then it would say, Bob's HAMB Broiler , the other side just leave blank. I'm sure Jim wouldn't mind...

 

I can't tell you how "connected" I feel to this place.

I visited it twice during my brief trip to the US recently. Thanks to Kevin for introducing me to Jim, Adriene, The Broiler, the HAMBers who turned up, and that special sensation - the vibe of the place.

we have nothing out here that even comes close to this place, which leaves me in awe of what you guys have in your own back yard.

So as some fag out here says - do yourself a favor - visit the joint - make it a success, go there!!

Cool idea.... but you're not taking into consideration the other side of the sign. You would cut-off too much of the "R", like Kevin was saying.
