Anyone have a 1927 dodge roadster? I have the opportunity to get one and just wanted to see some finished ones. Thanks
sort of. More tourings are out there it seems. I will be doing some work on a 22 roadster next week. The owner has tons of early dodges in every style but this is only the 2nd roadster he's had in his 66 years.
oh ok. i'm going to look at one tomorrow. i just wanted to make sure i knew what i was looking at and if was worth getting.
A DB roadster from about '24 up to '27 will look the same. The onlt differance I can think of right now is the '27 could have white faced gauges.
Here's one that I found locally a few years ago. The guy wants around 13k for it so I ***ume it's just going to sit in this place and rot away. I've never seen it covered up, just sits outside in the elements. Steering wheel has about rot away already. There's a good bit of bondo in it too. I "think" this was a 1926 Dodge Brothers...
thanks for the responses guys. I will try to post pics if i get it and get your opinions/suggestions as i am new to these cars
With that gauge cluster and a starter/generator I would think this W.V. car is a '27. What a shame for it to go to waste. There's only 10 '27 roadsters listed in my club roster, only one with a rumble seat which this one appears to have.
It probably is a 1927. I had a 25 Dodge bros sedan at the time I found that roadster. It seemed to me I remembered seeing a 1926 tag on it... but it has been a while. The car is actually sitting on another guys property. That guy that owns the property says he'd like the car to leave and see it go to a good home. But the owner lives about 10 miles away and yes he will sell the car, but will not take less than $13,000 from what I remember. Last time I was over that way, it was still sitting there. Dave
This Dodge roadster was at Manifolds on Main last month. Not sure what year it is. The guy is from Wichita Falls, TX. Bart
Here's a pic of my '27 coupe. If you have any questions on the build I can help out. I have pics of the complete build. It is very hard to get them low enough to look right without major mods to the frame. I f you run without fenders it is a lot easier
