I agree, but with the 58 million feet of welding wire you'll use to finish you may only be able to send a beer. Aw forget it, he's in Germany... we don't have any beer he'd want. :D

rollercoaster indeed! I kinda like the idea of the center bullet to pay homage to the cars originality, yet being totally different. I dont know what you can do to pull it off, but I'm pretty certain that you will make it happen.

    Keep up the amazing work!

(and I agree with Brent... JamesD is pretty awesome! He can make or break an idea that would normally take days to mock up)

I'm really liking the latest photoshop, I'm looking forward to seeing this front end somewhat fleshed out.

Those Caddy bumpers from way back with the round center grille in the middle would really look like that Buick LeSabre concept car.

This is easily one of the most fun builds to watch, because there's always something new to see every time I check.

I think it looks great, and I know its not my place to say this at all but I still favor the photoshop with the kaiser grill. No matter what you do this car is beautiful, good work!

Love the new opening shape. The fan/bullet thing in the middle not so much. Do you have any pictures with the grill bar like you mocked up in post 193 with the stars?

I'm wondering, with all you've fabbed so far why use mesh, knobs, stars, or any of that? I'd love to see you come up with your own grill bars.

that's kinda what i'm doing,,,,,you wouldn't believe what those gold grille bars are from in my pic above (totally non-car), , , as for the stars, i'm thinking of using the pontiac stars..theyre cool, and ive never seen anyone use them in a grille application before, , ,my mind is always working though,,,so you never know...lol:D

That garnish moulding grille surround is excellent, and as others have said, it works much better without the bullet. I can see that with a concave Kaiser style vertical bars. Would your 51 Merc grille go in there backwards, to make a concave grille?

My idea for a Kaiser style grille. The bars could be a bit thinner actually.

  26. The window moldings for the grill really seem to work with this car. Great idea. I'm not so big on the fan cover myself. The outer chrome ring seems to be a bit 'heavy' maybe play with thinning the outer ring somehow or eliminate it altogether. Somehow just work with the inner rings and tri-bar trim.

great work as always james,,,,maybe if the bars were thinner and more curved as opposed to bent it would flow better,,,sorta like a 57 buick grille, but with the grille being concave instead of sticking out, , ,
