I think this has been one of the best roadster swaps ive been to, it was huge and packed full of awsome hot rod loot, and we managed to get our hands on some of it.

Marcy was up from Texas for the Pile up and while we talked there i told her she had better come to the roadster swap, i told her it was usually the best swap of the year for us, so she did.

I told a few other Wisconsin friends of the swap and that they should make it but they didnt:(.

So here are some of the cool things weve found at the swap: sp tops, cal custom scoops, manifre set-up, edelbrock olds 4x2, nicson 2x4 olds, spalding sbc distributor, stewart warner gauges, 32 grille, 36 parts, box of little pages, ribbed bumpers, wide five 3-1/2 rims, flipper caps, 48 buick taillights, 94's, odd sbc chevy valve covers, and a bunch of other neat little*****, oh yeah, a caddy cragar 4x2 with linkage! and we surely didnt buy it all if thats what you were thinking! there was tons of other speed equipment, guide headlight, i seen 32 firewalls, a very nice 32 grille was had for $250, hexagon tool flathead intake, edmunds flathead stuff, it was crazy!

I only spent $100 but got some very neat stuff!

Marcy was glad she made it out!

We also were at an auction on saturday and missed out on a hemi cragar 4x2 intake, and gladly missed out on some overpriced model A's.

enjoy the pics, we still dont believe it!

Ya it was a great swap! I scored a set of 16" for wheels with caps and rings with fresh paint for $175 + a bunch of other stuff too.

Who was the guy with the belly tank on the roof of that******en 65-66 chevy truck? He had some stuff I wanted but I never got his number. I ran out of cash by the time he opened his booth.

Yea, it was a good day for a swap. I got rid of all the stuff I brought, it must have been the Free parts sign that did it. I have never returned from a swap empty before. My Dad got some deals, he was happy.

Is that the swap at the State Fairgrounds? I had a meeting in St Paul and went in early to attend. One of the best swaps I ever saw in the Midwest. Kind of goes in circle on a track?

Are those pics of the groups haul, or your $100 worth?!?!? :)
It was the best one it quite a while. I like that they left the aisles a little wider...Walking, and talking room! Seems like some swaps have the aisles so close, that when a couple guys stop to talk, there's a huge traffic jam.

There was a lot of people there, browsed for 2 1/2 hours found nothing I really couldn't live without. But I'm looking for only a few specific pieces, not collecting for the sake of collecting or for re-selling. Either way it was fun, saw some friends, a couple of nice cars for sale 47/48? Chevy stands out in my mind.... Norrie pointed out a lot of walkers for sale, also what's up with the flea market stuff? Not too much, but I'm REALLY not interested in t-shirts, used books or incense. The only way to stop these folks from showing up is to not buy anything or even appear interested in whatever they bring, in my opinion. Great way to spend a beautiful morning!

    they were our groups haul.

well i figured it out to be about $15 each

it was a fun time, alot of time b.s.ing was spent with a ton of great dudes, sold a few big parts for cheap so i dont have to keep tripping over them, and bought some cool smaller parts that will definatly be used on a couple of my projects.

I had a great time selling my stuff. I thought I did not have that much but ended up selling $500 by the end of the day.

It was the best swap ever I can remember for the state of MN in size and quality of the stuff. I did not see very much of the usual non-auto vendors today !

Good to see you again Jeff.

I knew it, I knew it. Oh well, I snooze I lose. I planned on it then backed out friday nite. I even skipped the Latimer IA auction. Oh well I scored pretty good in Cedar Rapids at the swap on saturday.

I stupidly****umed there would not be much there in the multiple carb intakes and it sounds like I was wrong too. oh well there is always next year. :)

This is IMO the best swap every year. This year was the best yet. Lots of cabin fever got people out on a nice morning. The wide aisles were nice. Great haul Jeff.

  19. I went to the "other" car show today. Fun too. Wish I'da hit the Roadsters show earlier. DANG!!

Great swap.Never left my space lest I be tempted to buy more than I sell.I'ts kind of a last chance to see and B.S. with all the swapmeet rats that a person sees all year,or in my case over 30 years, before winter sets in.

They don't use the race track because the track was removed in 2002, 2003.

I have only known the roadster swap meet to be in the parking lot even when the track was still there.

well not the whole track, but about 1/2 of it.

alot of the other swaps were in the race track, and in the pits area at times too, and where the mhra rod repair shop is and a bunch of other places in the fairgrounds.

How much did you have to give for the "SLO" tail light? I have a couple of em. Do you know if they were an old aftermarket light, or factory?

Did anyone get a pic of the skunk cruising along the line of swappers waiting to get in, it was about 5am when we got in line, we were walking the line of swappers and there was a skunk walking along the line of swappers, everyone was yelling "watch out for the skunk"! it was funny.

I had to skip it, I heard there was a 32 frame there. Does anyone know if it sold, and if It didnt who owns it? I'm looking for one, and I'm kicken myself for skipping the swap. But theres always another time.

Thanks alot Jeff and Marcy for rubbing in how good it was!!! I guess I really shoulda hit the road at 2am and made the drive. I was bummed that I chose to miss the Cedar Rapids swap Saturday to go to that BS auction in Latimar. Now I'm even more bummed I didn't make it to the roadster's swap.

I scored a 20's Chev grill. The person I bought it from told me it was a 32, another freind told me it was a 29,30. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Also I must say this was the best swap meet I seen in Minnesota in a long time.

Also the ?!?!? that sold me the SBF engine stand last spring at the first swap meet was not there, good thing as the bolt hole for the engine mounts were not space right and one rear upright was 2" off from the intended bolt hole I might have had a few words for him and his chinese*****.

Also nice meeting a few HAMB members there.
