So what kind of money does this door art set a guy back? Something simple like a name, an address, and a number, ballpark? Gene

...the first pic is one I took of Wendell Scotts 1954 Dodge truck racecar hauler as I found it. I bought the truck in 1998. It's the opening pic of my website.

...the other two are from the net.

Gene, I usually charge $100 a door for just lettering. Logo design would be extra. Depending on your local sign painters' shop rate, and (if a logo was included), how detailed your logo is, you could expect to pay anywhere from $75-250 per door, I'd guess.

  6. My guy did my doors, striped the hood, and painted the letters on the tailgate for $150.

This one belongs to my neighbor and longtime friend. The guy can sure build cars. Back in the 80s, he'd buy a Ford unibody pickup and a donor 70s F Body. Friday he'd pull them both into the shop and Monday morning, it would be driving with clip, rearend, drvietrain and all. Never seen someone build as fast as he does.

I usually shoot for around $150 per door....Words/ logo. More detail more money.

I wouldn't mind putting J&T's garage Ashtabula Ohio ,on mine, MY dad's initials and my Initials, he is the one who got me started in cars as a kid, and even though my car is off topic he found it and picked it out for me. He's getting old, won't be around forever. Something to honor him, I think a lot of these signs on cars may be to honor people, but sometimes we just don't know the story.

Almost impossible to find now. Computers & vinyl lettering killed off the use of it. Our local college art shop had a blowout sale on their stock a few years ago.

Give me a call. Maybe we could get together and do your doors. I'm not too far from ya. My cell number is 912-278-1314. If I'm racin', I won't hear the phone, so just leave me a message.

Here's mine, I thought of it last Thursday, the wife painted it on Friday and Saturday. Everyone has fictitious speed shops, I thought why not a wrestling school?
Modeling for the artwork was very tiring.

Here are some shots of the progress on the "shop truck" I lettered.
Won't be long before it's leaving skinny black streaks all over town. =)
