Here's some pics of my deuce 3-window[Brookville] that I'm going to try and make into a barn find. I had to leave for Arizona, and CheaterCarl bolted the body on my ch***is. Thanks Carl, the weathers fine here in Havasu.

Can you elaborate on "make into a barn find?" I ***ume you want to patina it with all stock running gear then? Not trying to be a jerk, I'm just not sure where you are headed with this. It'd make for an usual new build. I'd like to see it come together. I'm jealous of anyone who can afford a new Brookeville.

if you can afford to build that than you could probably afford to go and hunt down a real barn find. lame.

Agree! If u got the time and money make it nice with slick paint. I don't get the whole trying to make your car look like a pile. Fake Patina ****s. Sorry. You're about to get slammed.

You can't re-create history. No matter how much time or money you put into this to make it look old, upon closer inspection people will know. Kinda like stuffing socks in your pants to get the girl. So what happens when you DO get the girl and it's time to start the dirty dance? Yeah, same reaction people will give you at a show.
Look, the patina thing is a p***ing fad, it's cool if it's real, but lame if it's not. There is absolutely nothing wrong with shiny paint...hell even flat black is better than fake patina. Save yourself the embar***ment and cost of something that will be dated in 5 years and do this right.

BTW, if you do go this route and you do fake people out, what are you going to tell people when they ask about the history or where you found it? Lie? If you tell the truth, people will just do an about face and walk away shaking their head.

I cannot belive anyone would come to this site and start a thread like this and be serious. It has to be a joke or **** stiring.

If it's real, well it's your money I guess, but don't expect a pat on the back round here.

You're right, we cannot re-create history, don't have to anyways!

BUT: I also like the barn find look and think about adding some "aging touches" to my roadster. And I would never lie to people. If someone would ask I just tell them what I did. They don't have to understand. I don't understand a lot of thinks in the hot rod business, too... and I don't wan't to understand it!

I also thought about parking my roadster outside for a year or so and let the birds **** on it...but still cannot do it, love the "sissy style" too!!

I was recently told of someone who welded in some rusted parts to a new Brookville. I was shocked and found it wrong in so many ways. Thought it was a lie but apparently not as another reliable source relayed the same story. Whatever rolls yer socks down I guess and no, no congrats around here from such things. Maybe I should leave the bird **** on my 47 Packard?

Good on ya hotrodprimer. Lets not forget its HIS car!!!! To build as HE wants. Even if a lot of people, including me, wouldn't do this, at least its not just another sheep build...

Afterall this site champions the building of cars reflecting the 50s and 60s, its just this one will look like its been in a barn. :) Much better result the pro streeting it :)

you may want to find out more about brookville before you make a comment. brookville makes steel roadsters and coupes, not fibergl***.

    -danny

p.s. there was a guy here in houston that won best restored at an early v-8 show with a brookville roadster body. now that is funny!

What a bunch of whiners! Jeez! Are we gonna have to start poo-pooing every car on here unless it's a 100 point restored historically do***ented lakes racer? I *might*, maybe, on a bad day, be more inclined to feel the same way if it were a nice original car, but it's a freakin brookville! Plus, I think the joke's on you guys... Every car I've seen CheaterCarl involved with has been pretty ****in awesome. Looks like a fun project, do it up fellas!
