Today the "rhode aces" had there 1st"illegal mini bike race".It was suppose to be a 2 lapper thru east providence on the street & off road but after the 1 st lap some people decided to cut around a fire truck responding to a fire , cops came & you can figure out how the race went after that?? All in all it was a great time. I want to give cujos to geoff keller for Manning up to the police about who started the race, yadayada. There was only 2 crashes before the race started, everything went cool, no body lost a eye. heres some pics It was a "leMans" start!!lol JimV
So what was the fate of the one who dropped rocks and claimed the races? I dont know what RI laws are.... what can they get him for?
The last thing this hobby needs is a hoodlum image. I'm all for fun and I'm no stick in the mud, but didn't anyone think this just MIGHT be a bad idea?

Hell yeah!!! Reminds me of pit bikes back in the 70s. My brit mc club buddies and I like to do a little illegal racing ourselves, on the PNW twisties.
Damn, that looks like fun... Someone in my neighboorhood was running one of those a couple of weeks ago. I haven't seen a old mini bike since my high school days
I remember a few guys talking about doing this at the Rust Revival last summer. One tank of gas and leave one of the local towns and try to make it to Wayland. That sounds like a friggin blast. Kool pics and thanks for posting.
Who here hasn't ran around in a go cart, mini bike or the like on the street at least once? It's all illegal, so I guess there goes our lawfull angel rep.

There's knuckleheads in CT????? The reasonable cop was pretty cool and just suggested it be organized some where not on the streets next time. I have a fealin it's going to be outa control, see you next year!

My point being, why the **** are we wasting forum space talking about mini bikes? Yeah, they're fun, but this isn't a mini bike forum...
I think the Lonestar Round Up have kind of welcomed the whole mini bike thing - therefore - it is now an accepted part of the community. Much like the rat rods......if you dont like em - just keep on cruisin to the next thread. Ryan has the ultimate authority on this I would think.
