My dad worked for the company that built one of the lift frames for the Space Shuttle

When I was a kid, I remember him working on a model of it for the bid.

if i am not mistaken (and i usually am) it is one of the Mercedes Benz Silver Arrows

my knowledge of these cars is rather limited, and from this angle i cant quite tell, lol.

the Auto Union of the time was mid-engine

these cars and the creation of the Nurburgring are proof that Adolf Hitler was a car guy... J/K he probably didnt give a rat finks ass about cars.
but he did see it as a way to convey the new Germany's power.
like when he laid the plans for the KDF wagen, (later the Volkswagen
type 1, thank you Mr. Porsche)

by the way, when i removed the horn cap from the steering wheel on my 78 vert, there was the number 420, like a part inspection sticker...
i found this amusing because 4/20 was Hitler's birthday! now if i find 5/16 on it anywhere i will laugh long and hard cuz thats the day he died...

O/T i know now to find some cool pics of my own to share!

Hand painted post card of Syracuse, NY Chrysler Plymouth dealership circa 1937. Building is still in use as a Jeep Dealership. the interior has been toned down a bit, but the balcony offices and chandeleer are still there.
