Art & Inspiration Sitting and Rotting.............picture thread

I took pictures of this car in March of 2005...it's now 4 yrs 8 mos later and the car still sits rotting. This is not out in a remote field, behind a barn, or buried inside a wrecking yard...it is in the city of San Diego behind a lawyers office. As the scrawling on the back window reads, "Not for Sale". San Diego weather is pretty easy on cars but even at that this Nomad is slowly rotting...

Check this out! the yard is closed and sells no parts ! Locals say he shoots at ya!! Sorry the pics are not closer but my butt didn't want any buckshot in it !!

she was daily driven in the 70s and garage kept, then for 5 years kicked outside then i found it

 

This one has been there (Bodie) a while. Legend has it that anything taken from Bodie will bring extremely bad luck.

 

A friend recently visited this place here in New Zealand

 

Saved these 2. They had been up in the hills for decades, and what I thought was amazing was the only rust through on the '33 was in the corner of the visor. The slant window turned p.u. did alright too.
Sometimes it pays to knock on that door.

 

Although slightly off topic by a few years I scored this 67 AMC Marlin on the weekend. Low production numbers of 2,545! Too far gone but loaded with many options I,ll part it out to fund my other hot rod projects. The cost for it? I had to deliver a 67 Charger to the guys house then just go back and get the Marlin....

 

My dad's ol '56 Plymouth Savoy. He parked it on my grandfathers
farm in early 60's and she's been sitting there ever since.

 

I have posted these before, but I love the Willys. Same old story "They are not for sale".......For now

If the job market does't improve soon i'm gonna end up looking like these cars. At least I have a comfy couch..... I'll have to talk the lady of the house into taking a ride up north this weekend and get you guys some pics of a few places i've found out in the desert. Things don't deteriorate quite as fast out here, but you gotta be on the look-out for rattlesnakes.

 

I'm guessing it was extremely rusted underneath and was moved to where it sits with a forklift.

 

This is the only other pic I could find with the black long roof. You can just see the back corner of the roof. I don't know if the pic will help. There were so many cars to look at I didn't notice if it was a hearse or not.

 

Yeah, I find its not so much that old cars leak, its that they HOLD water - atleast for a while

Huh. That's funny I heard 500 a piece for everything in there, you just have to make an appointment. I went in this yard when I was a kid, lot's of good shit. It's exchanged hands a few times since then.

Ok its slowly rotting. My question is it worth more will it bring more cash today than it would have brought 4 years and 8 months ago? Of course the answer is it will indeed bring more today. OldWolf

 

in the early sixties that plymouth would have been a $35.oo dollar car I think it is worth more today than when parked. OldWolf
