It's really amazing, considering what you started with. What do you suppose the percentage would be, of the uninitiated, who walk by the car and think it's just a restored stocker ?!?

Thanks guys I really appreciate the comments. I know how hard sometimes HAMBers can be on novices, so displaying what I have done can be a bit intimidating.

My main concern throughout were the proportions, i feel that a car with great proportions always looks cl***ic. Because this was a 4 door, alot of work went in to it just to get it to look right.

Still got alot of work to do though, but its a driver and will get driven.

  7. your proportions are spot on (to my eyes). Beautiful and cl***ic look! Now why couldn't they look like that from the factory? I guess it would have saved you 9 years of working and thinking!!!! great job I hope someday to have the balls to chop a car;)

Man, this is the best home-grown custom I have seen in a long, long time; and the odds
of pulling it off were loooooong. But, you certainly succeeded. And the color is beautious

How is the hard top holding up? Leaks? I wouldn't mind doing my '54 as a hard top.

What I am working on now - 1936 Ford Truck

Since this will belong to my wife, i have been trying to convince her about a very conservative chop. I think the top on these is a bit high, functional yes back in the 30's when they were farm trucks, but i am looking at form more than anything. Maybe 2 inches, it may not seem worth all that trouble, but in the end, i think it will sit just right.

A chop something along the lines of geemann51's truck, his 37 Ford just looks right.

Thanks for posting. You did a great job, it doesn't look like it was ever a four door. Let us know the progress on the 36'.
