G'day All just found this web site awesome photos gunna give me a few good ideas for the paint scheme on my own altered wheel base i've almost finshed buiding here in Australia which happens to be the first and only altered wheel base car here in Australia It's had a 12 inch move on the rear and 8 inch on the front
So bitchin, Dave!!!! Have not seen you for some time. Now I know why you have not been here in states, wrecking rental cars when you put hemis in the trunks from the salvage yards!!!! 'Bout time you found the H.A.M.B, buddy!!! The car looks spot on. Guess all thos times stopping by the FunnyCar Farm finally wore off on you enough to build an A.W.B. And glad to hear its the first on the continent!! Dale
That's funny it reminds me of Kolurguy here on the HAMB bought my 371 Olds and we stuffed it in the back of an SUV....ha ha.
Wow, either I missed it or there are this many pages with no pictures of the Suicide King studebaker or the Gunslinger 57 Ford. Guess I'll have to dig through mine...
God bless you citizen. The planets are back in alignment. The 57 I bought from a hamber and sold to a hamber. I'd love to see an update. Wish I still had it.
Holy cow! What is that? A 64 Comet? But it's the best thread here. Well other than the 64-65 Comet thread. Oh and the Thunderbolt thread. Opps don't forget the drag cars in motion thread. And cool pics. Dang no wonder I'm on here so much!
Yeah I know what you're saying about repeats. There are some pics I've seen posted about 10 times here. Personally I try to go through a thread and make an effort not to repeat pics....but I'm sure I may have. What drives me nuts on threads is when someone post like 10 pics....then several people "quote" it and it reposts all of the same pics again and again. That isn't really a problem here....but on other forums I'm on.... damn!
This is being built up at my shop now. These pics are old so it's progressed since these were taken but it's an altered wheelbase '64 Chevy II with a 439 CI BBC with a Crower injection system, clutch turbo trans and a beam axle front suspension.
Agreed......I would support all cars here being LHD lets swap all the roads over as they did in Samoa recently
Daved, Your Mopar looks great, but it ain't the first AWB car in Australia, I can think of four just of the top of my head that raced at most of the drag strips on the east coast in the sixties & seventies. I will try & dig up some pix, here are 2 of them Bruce Phillip's "Illusion " & Dave & tony Andrews's "Rent A Beast"
