Gotta love Firebird! I almost lost my buddies super street challenger in that very lane when I hit the lights one night. I bitched and no one did a damn thing. 2nd round, same thing...loaded up and left.

Can't wait to see ya dip into the single digits. It all gets a little more expensive from that point.

That's true. Cars with solid axles can't possibly go straight. Ha..... As far as running 9s, when asked to load up, and with all due respect to the tech guys, I've always told them I've been thrown out of much nicer places than this. Aound here we consider it a kind of badge of honor. Somebody needs to get tossed every now and then or they won't take you seriously.

    Nice pass Glen.

We raced the cars Tuesday night for the tv show Pass/Time. The NHRA big boys were there this weekend so the track was perfect. The top fuel cars were still test/tuning on Tuesday afternoon so it was my chance at a perfect track. I went for broke and got aggressive with my shock settings....the adjustment was the wrong direction and pogo'd the car pretty good at the launch but I still ran a 10.18 at 129. I thought it might be the chance to see a 9 second pass but the big boys educated me on Density altitude and told me the car would be slower than what I run in Phoenix. I was also nervous about only having one shot at it and you guys have seen what happens when I dont do a good burnout, so I made sure it was going to stick.....i buried this video on Vimeo, I will leave it up for 24 hours and let you guys check it out. Hopefully they edit everything so I dont look like a geek.

Brett was really cool, somebody dropped the bug in his ear not to call my car a rat rod....so he asked me if it was a RRRRRRrrrrrr...I stopped him and said Im making my own class and its Drag Rod.

Another observation , the car unloaded the tires bad, set the rear shocks so when you try to lift the car by hand at the rear it is harder than it was before, You want the tires to try to separate from the body on the leave

Thanks....I just started playing with my shocks and I had no idea two clicks would change that much.....I went up two clicks on the rebound and that is what the result was. I need to spend some time with that, I learn something new every time I go out.

    Glen,
I really enjoy reading about the progress you're making with your car, thanks for posting.
Just out of curiosity, how much travel do your rear coilovers have? What springs?

I still run a model A crossmember and buggy springs. I have a set of QA1 double adjustable shocks.

Thanks, I had it dialed in pretty good with the 396, but this new motor has me starting all over again.....On the 15th there is a day long event, It will give me a chance to get it corrected.

10.01 to 9.99 is kind of like the sound barrier. My old Camaro spent almost a season in the bottom 10's and I got fed up and sold the car. The new owner got some help from an old Pro stock racer and dipped into the high 9's almost immediately. At that level just a little tweeking can make a big improvment.

finally got there.....9.96 at 131 mph

I finally eliminated the squat and the car was carrying the front end perfectly. The videos are just like the other so no reason to post it, but Kramer did snag this picture.

The last pass of the day I lined up against Shakey puddin, but the car picked up the wheels and carried them right to the center line. I had to get out of it or I would have crossed the center. The guys were working the starting line as I was doing my burnout so I think there was something uneven about the surface.
