For those of you that live in Florida there used to be one of those 40s or 50s 4 car trailer sitting east of 19 and a little north of the New Port Richey area with 4 50s cars on it,it was back in 80 when I seen it and most likey gone now but you never know.
That is up at the Museum of the America's in Polson, I knew the trailer was there, have drooled over it alot, but never knew he had the truck.
Ya I was doing a job in Polson last year and saw that ruck at a body shop just south of Polson getting a new paint job. When I took the pics I noticed that all they did was shoot it without doing any work on the truck. It's still cool as heck tho. He has so much cool stuff in that museum. We spent 4hrs in there a couple years ago and could have easily spent another 4 looking at the stuff we missed. Real nice folks too. Larry
Heres a cool pic thats in our living room . Sorry for the bad pic but its a picture of a picture behind gl***....Jim
Has this picture been photo shopped? Mercedes did use this transporter, but it looks like the wheels are not original. Also the car looks a little modern. The ones I remember were used to transport their Grand Prix cars from the shops to the tracks. If I remember correctly they were very quick and put the Autobahn to good use. I always thought that this was the ultimate car hauler. Thanks for posting the pic.
The scary thing is thinking about all that weight and the ****ty brakes. How many of those cool old trucks you think lost it going down mountain roads back then? Really cool thread!
Look at that cop standin there, back then he was probably guiding traffic but today he would be sayin "dont even think about it punk!" haha
Looking to find photos of 55'-57' Nomad bodies being transported. Bodies where made in one Factory , and then shipped to other Plants for ***embly. Thank You.
