I am in the dark lookin for some help. Is there a way to lower the front of a 36 coupe using the existing straight axle . Any info would be a big help.

Flip the axle so it's on top of the spings. All you have to do is cut the pads off and move 'em to the bottom of the axle. You may have to notch the frame in your stocker, but that's how the front end of my roadster is set up, using a '35 Dodge axle, springs, and steering. Easy.

I have a 31 Plymouth Sedan that I have just started. We put the axel "through" the leaf springs like a standard rear leaf set up...added 1" lowering blocks and fabbed some flat plates "sandwiched" together with 4 threaded rods (each side).

This height was achieved by moving the spring pack from the bottom of the main spring to the top, It hasn't been on the road but it sure looks good.
