    Skip, that ride has a lot going for it besides the mags, but they sure do look nice.
    I've been thinking about putting a Heavy 32 axle under my 5W coupe. Drilled but no drop. Seems every Model A or 32 Ford has a 4" drop axle.

    I'm looking to do something a little more racey. This car makes me sweat:

    ALTEREDS = NO FENDERS

    Some people just don't get it. Cars like this with A/G on the 1/4 panel make me laugh.

    and chopped cars were considered altereds to correct?

    so a g***er coupe would be a full fendered unchopped un(altered) car.

    the chop part wouldn't take a car out of gas cl***. as there were several chopped g***ers. gilcrist (sp) willys coupe and maz's football austin come to mind.

    "In 1958, a gas cl*** racer was basically a hot street coupe. No engine setback was allowed, all g***ers had to have working lights, wipers, starter, generator and all other street equipment. Fans and belts were optional, but radiators were required. The car even had to be currently licensed for the street. Full exhaust systems, including mufflers, were required but could be unhooked for compe***ion, although they had to remain on the car. Those of you old enough will remember “cutouts” that were used back then up into the early 60’s.

    What all this provided for was a cl*** for guys to run a “hopped-up” street machine. The cars were required to have full “factory-type” upholstery although two buckets could replace the standard bench seat as long as both were fully upholstered. Customs were allowed as long as the car wasn’t chopped, channeled or sectioned a total of more than four inches. “Four stock fenders” and a rear bumper were also required.

    Full transmissions were also required. “Quick-change rear-ends, locked differentials or ratchet-type rear-ends (high torque) are permissible with safety hubs.” Four-wheel brakes were required as well." - from Byron's G***er Madness

    Different years had different requirements and the idea of a g***er changed.
    This early period of "Hot street coupes" g***ers is what I'm building my Vicky to right now.

    My '32 had a g***er look to it when I bought it. The car was set up this way in the 60's. I recently installed a dropped axle and lowered the front 8 inches.
