Glad you are ok. When I was young my Dad hit one with our 70 Caprice station wagon. It went over the hood an into the windshield. Just about totaled the car........scared my 12 year old *** to death. I still remember it.

Hope you are OK, sad to see that grill totaled. Tough way to get a jacket and driving groves.

Sorry to hear about your car. Their was a deal in a town where I lived, where a semi hit a deer and sent it flying sideways into an on coming car's windshield and it went right on through the back gl***. And the two people in the front seat lost their heads, in the bad type of way. Glad to hear your both ok.

Glad you are OK. I've hit three of them so far. I wish they had open season on them year around. Up here they are corn fed and get as big as a cow!

  14. Wow that ****s! The same thing happened to me in my 33 5 window. A big buck ran out of the ditch and right into the side of our car! The head came partially inside the windshield wrapped around the side and landed on the roof crushing it. My wife had gl*** shards in her head and we both had deer hair in our mouths ears and eyes yuk! As has been said it just a car and we were OK it could have been much worse . Insurance paid for the damages 20K

Glad you and the wife are ok and hope you got better coverage than we do. We found out that if we hit any type of fur bearing animal its not covered at all. Hope you have a better deal. For a 70 mph hit your car did good as to damage.

Guys, I am glad you are okay. Deer on are highway are becoming a bigger problem as we continue, to expand our civilization outward. I am not a tree hugger...just an observation.

The main thing is that you two are OK! It's a shame about your 34 though! I missed TWO deer coming around a blind cornfielded curve in July in my 27 T RPU! It was close! I was running about 60 mph at the time. I just got lucky. Good luck on reviving your ride. I hope that the insurance, etc; goes well for you.

So sorry for this bad deal, but am so glad you and your lady are O.K. My honey and I were victims of a deer a couple years ago, just shot out of a roadside ditch with no warning. You are commended on keeping that baby under control and it not being worse. Good wishes for a complete repair on a super rod. ~Sololobo~

My son got hit by a dear about 2 years ago a couple miles down our road. It's night and he see's it and slows almost to a stop, (there's alway more than one) the dear freaks and turns and runs smack into the right front fender, rolls across the hood, gets up and hops off, over a fence and into the dark. Boy ok, car about $1,500, dear ok. Three years ago, my neighbor's daughter hit one out front deadon. It went up and over hood, and through the windshield. Girl ok, car not so lucky, dear DRT. Fortunately you and the wife are ok, car can be fix no doubt, and thank God that ****er didn't come through the windshield!

Insurance company treated me right. Got a check in the mail yesterday. Local claim service came out wrote estimate the next Friday after the accident. Called the night before, told me it was ok to tear the car down before he came out, I gave him photos before teardown. American Collectors Insurance is a Jalopy Journal sponsor. they have been running full page ads in the mazazines lately with a photo of a red '37 ford with a busted lft fender, caption below says "you are about to find out just how good your insurance is'. They are ok by me!
I went to Howell's Sheetmetal Friday, Ryan met me even though they were closed, went ahead spent the extra and bought all 4 steel fenders & other sheetmetal parts I need. Nice parts, fair price, xtra good service. Saved several hundred $ in shipping by picking them up, plus they weren't damaged in shipping.
Now I gotta straighten the frame, replace the deer-bent Superbell axle, decide whether or not to strip & repaint the whole car, since half of it is being painted anyway. Now, anyone want to buy 2 nice rear and 1 nice rt front gl*** '34 ford fenders?
