    Most people don't remember when that fire occurred. I remember reading about it and was thankful for the safety of the crew after their heroic battle with the fire. Senator McCain survived with you as well.

    Want to give a shout out to my Great Uncle Goldie-B-24 "The Prowler" Waist Gunner. Made 35 missions over Europe from England,survived crash landing at Dover.
    My dad said Goldie made the newspapers when he made it back home.
    89 years old and still works everyday at his restaurant.

    Once I talked to him about how we were both in the Air Force in England. I said,yeah but YOU were the one they were shooting hot lead at.

    Working on Jet fighters was a bit less risky.

    My family has been serving since the revolution. :)

    My yonger brother flew on Air force One with Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush and Clinton. :cool:

    At his retirement party it was whos who. Boy was this car nut out of place.:rolleyes:

    And my grandfather who passed away this Oct. 30th. 1st Marines: Guam (flag raising), Peleliu, Guadal Canal, Okinawa, then China.
