The 351 has a bad ass cam and a 650 Holley double pump runs great. My shock towers are gone to fit the motor in. I have a Height's Mustang II front end with rack steering and 11" disc brakes.

How much of a project do you want? There are two roundbodies on the Joplin, MO Craigslist right now for under $1k. One's a wagon.

I don't think I posted photos at the time, but i finally got my wagon back on the road a couple of months ago, almost three years after the accident that sidelined it. Pretty vanilla, but the 302 keeps thing fun. I'd put some torq-thrusts on it, if I could find a nice vintage set that fit right.

    Here's my other falcon - it's a stocker.

BTW, does anybody know how to attach the stainless trim that goes around the window frames on the door? I've got all the pieces, but damned if I can figure out how it goes on. No screw holes or clips, looks like it snaps over the window frame somehow. I suspect there is a special tool required.

Me am dumb about such things - I usually take trim off, not put it back on.

coop, man you take beautiful pictures!
the stainles trim snaps on, but in a certain order. I have a body manual somewhere that tells you the correct order. to remove it you use a square bottle opener and a paint stir stick. you have to make sure that the edges aren't bent...
    nice falcons!

Thanks for the info on the trim, I'll start looking for a body repair manual.

Slighty O/T, but here's a few photos of the Falcons running in La Carrera Panamericana this year. They are very competitive, one of these "Monte Carlo" Falcon clones won the race a couple of years ago. The orange one, built by our mechanic, todd Landon, finished second or third last year (can't remember which.)

The trim on mine has the vertical post pieces under the part that goes across the whole door top.
So the vertical post trim goes on first.
Does that make sense to anyone??

I can post pictures later if needed.

Somebody tell my dad - I'm NOT as stupid as I look. I went outside to mess with those trim pieces, and 15 minutes later, everything was back on the car! Turns out the special tool is a hammer and a little hunk of 2X4. The outer edge snaps on, and you tap the inner edges with the hammer and wood block to snap it on. I was a little shocked at how quickly it went once I figured it out.

  19. your car is real nice! i know how you feel when you become discouraged in a car, it sucks. to me that car would look just awesome painted dark blue with that red interior. i would photoshop it for you if i knew how lol! find some rims and tires that you like and get your stance right first off. you will like the car alot more.

The round body convertible has tons of potential. Although it is not a convertible, here's a before and after of mine, the only changes are wheels and stance... wheels from 13" to 17", dropped suspension quite a few inches...that's it!

In addition to the appearance, the benefits of the suspension changes to handling and control were huge, the car as I got it drove straight and rode ok, but curving was lots of lean and roll, steering response was poor... now the car drives and handles much better.

I regret I'm putting it up for sale, but I need the garage space!

Here's mine, its my daily driver, has been for the last 18 years, and some, started to build it when i was 13 yrs old was finished by the time i turned 16. I t is an Australian 1964 XM Falcon hardtop. Aussie built coupes had the basic North American body shell with Australian rear 1/4 panels and aussie front clips. I treated mine to a mildly worked 302 windsor, C4 auto, 8 3/4 rear end, 71 xy falcon discs up front. Here she is..... Done me Right for the last 18 plus years......

Coop666 - thanks for the comment about 'Monte Carlo Falcons', a quick search revealed a lot more about this special breed - I'd only heard of them generically as a special variety of the 'Falcon Sprint'.

Which prompted me to hunt up this one - don't think its been posted here yet. It is raced by Aussie/Kiwi racer Jim Richards in a sort of nostalgia styled circuit class. More pics here (in between his team Porsches), and more info here. I believe there might be a high detail, large scale diecast model of it being made.

Put 14s on the front finally and added some '61 Galaxie wheelcovers, then broke the thermostat housing. Now that it looks like a stock Futura, I really need to start the hot rodding part of the project.

    Hey Peddro!
my brother bought them from Mooneyes for his wifes t bird and never used them, so i put them to use. they have no markings that i can find of maker:confused:. they are 14x6 wheels.

  29. Eric, Thanks for the info. This is the Cragar I mentioned.

The place that has them has a few variations on the same theme, but this one looks the closest to what you're running. Was just curious as it was a coincidence that I happened to be eyeballing them and then I saw your ranchero on this post. I just bought myself a '63 wagon, and it NEEDS something more than the stock 13" rims!
