    Is it just me......

It looks weird to me if an animal, or vechicle or similar graphic isnt facing FORWARD on each side of the car....
I always thought such graphics should be mirrored so that it looks 'right' on each side!

I see lots of cool stuff, nostalgic and some modern........ A new trend seems to be growing, I had a few calls on it, never landed a job yet, but some people are into the washed out look of lettering. The calls I got were about 3 different old trucks that wanted the worn out look in NC. I like doing the old stuff. I just ikke doing it all.....I consider myself to be fortunate to find something to pay the bills and actually enjoy.

  13. Cool truck.
    Are you originally from MT?

  14. I'll second that. Same is true for aircraft nose art. Think "Forward Look."

  15. I'll third that!

Anybody got a picture of the Jim Rogers BEELINE DRAGWAY 1959 Cheverolet the used as an advertising sign. It had Beeline Dragway in black and yellow down the whole side. It would of been 1963 and 1964 maybe longer.Sure would like to find a picture of it! Thanks, John

There really is no right or wrong set in stone. Some people feel as you do, I might, depending on the job, but as a rule, you read left to right, so the layout would be opposite on the other side. That is the way I do it more often than not.

  27. Thanks for the info Trimmer Len, I did find it through you link, cool stuff.

This is one of the ways for a beginner at hand lettering to get some actual hands on experience. Get a door from the junk yard, and just pay attention as you letter over what is there. Study it for a bit, then wipe it off with thinner and practice again tomorrow.

For a basic pair of doors, company name address and phone number, a presentable job would start at $175 pr and go up from there. I also offer a no frills, no thought, one color vinyl door lettering for $100 pr.
