I own a little land here in the turd town of Newville .... One night I was watching Tv while the wife and kids headed in to pick up a pizza.... I heard a knock at the door ... I got up walked to the door opened it and saw about a 6foot 250 pound guy standing there .....Myself 6 foot 2 and 240 said can I help ya...... He was like do you own those woods back there ... I said yup .... I was in those woods last night around 2 in the morning he said..... I said well I'm not from Pa I grew up in Orlando Fl... and doing shit like that gets people shot......He said where are the kids and lady that live here ...... I said oh Her thats my girlfriend and her kids ..... all that live is me and my 3 pits..... (I have one old fat ass german pointer)
I have never seen the guy since..... and he never said why he is in the woods...... there are some creepy dudes in this area... I guess due to that fact of inbreeding....

I would walked up and held out a 100 bill Then say thats for the doctor visit you are going to need

dont see the problem? Have 2 big mean rottweilers, who does their commands. Somebody can come in , but dont go away from my yard. if they got message to be allert, even my friends have to wait for my return.....
Once, approx. 15y. back i got visitors in my also then never locked garages, and they found my crazy enough to give a reputation to not visit without allowance.... after be roped behind a car some 100yards, after the legs.
Here it isnt allowed to use weapons, and if your hands got scars, you´d shure got busted for "taking the law in your hands".... learned the hard way, but with a great enough reputation around the locals, they keeps away!

Just thought I'd add a little to this old thread. A little over a week ago here in my area, a couple of thieves were cutting copper cable from a small textile plant building that they thought was abandoned. The power feed was still hot. They had a nice little pile of copper cut loose already and were getting more. One of the thieves luck ran out. He cut into a line with 17,000 volts on it. He's a crispy critter now!!!!!!! The partner also got arrested. The bad guys lost this one.

Wow this thread goes back a bit. I had nearly forgotten about that incident. Nothing ever came of it though, still got both cars and hopefully firing up the Chevy for the first time this weekend.

Since life seems to enjoy kicking me in the balls at times, last July had to give away an 84 Camaro Z28 for free because I couldn't get a junk guy to come get it. Oh well.

never really have this problem. i have 2 rather large pitbulls (Bondo and Guage) that are on a underground fence. people will park at the street and walk towards my shop, they dont make it real far :D... they usually turn and head for the street once they spot my dogs.
if they only knew my dogs would lick em to death, if their tails didnt kill em first. something about people outta their reach makes em bark and get rev'd up. if you just keep walkin and cross the fence, the lickin and playin begins.

Fortunately, I don't have that problem in my area. Maybe it's because I'm in a rural area, I'm not sure. I think it's because the junk guys here are just lazy. All they do is run ads or put signs in front of their house saying "WE BUY JUNK".

  18. if he shows up again and is on your property, or in the garage, play along with him. grab your camera, take his picture and tell him you're going to the cop shop with it. grab one of his plate as well. you'll never be bothered with him again.

Let's say for a second that he didn't know the cars' values. Who would keep two cars they regarded as junk in the garage? Aren't those usually found next to the garage or out back? What an asshole...

old thread but an interesting read.

when i moved to the house i'm in now my project cars were the first things to get moved before anything else. i don't think my next door neighbor liked what he saw, but he never complained at least to me or my wife. when we were having our deck built the inspectors came by to check everything out and noticed the next door neighbor was having a deck built too, but without proper permits and no inspections. he got in some hot water and got shut down. next thing you know the county is at my door with a citation to remove the junk cars from the driveway. i knew were that complaint came from. a call to the county and all i needed was for those cars to be tagged and insured. the county came back checked the plates and said thank you, havent been back since. the neighbor however is gone.

the scrap guys in my area were pretty bad too a few years ago but it's seemed to have died down quite a bit. still i saw alot of good stuff going to the yard that was far from junk. one was a nice two-tone late 50's Edsel that had been a driver right before they stacked another car on top of it. saw alot of old racecars go too.

You called them "JAWAS"! That is amazing!

My "Jawas" are also trained, I can even get them to take stuff they can't get cash for, cuz they know I will have good stuff for them more often than not, it saves a trip to the dump!

    Jawas... I love it.

This morning on the way to work I passed a junker with a 60 chevy wagon, a 66 Galaxie and a 64 Le Sabre all with some legitimate junk on top of that. All going to china.

The machine shop i used to work at had some work done on a flow jet and it was stored in a chainlink fenced storage area now the flow jet place had wrote the shops name on the parts with a grease pen one monday morning i went to get some of the parts and they were all gone.Later that morning the boss comes up and says get in the truck we gotta go I.D. our parts.Turns out the retards took the parts to my boss's brothers scrapyard,When he saw the mane he told stalled them then called his brother and the cops. They got some time for it as the they were both felons and it was like $4000 worth of steel and aluminum

Guy we know has a small shop near Birmingham. Some local crackheads cut the fence, then bashed a hole in the wall of his storage building to get his steel and aluminum stock. He's not even 100% sure the storage was locked and they damn near tore the building down to get in.

Problem with all this is the crackheads might have got $20 for all the material, BUT the back lot is covered up with all kinds of scrap metal, dead motors, drivetrain parts, and about a half-dozen car bodies that he would have GIVEN to anybody willing to haul it off.

Makes you wonder. Seems like even crooks were smarter back in the day.
