USAF 1968-1971. Weapons mechanic, the guy that loads and maintains aircraft weapons systems. Worked on 50. cal. in trainers through nukes.

Dad was in the USAAF in WWII. B-17 gunner. Was shot down once, but the whole crew survived to fly again. He was to leave for the invasion of Japan but the Enola Gay/surrender canceled his orders the day before his departure. His brother was in the Pacific campaign the entire duration, one of only a few in his outfit that started out and got to go home alive. Those two were and still are real men! 83 and 86 years old, sharp as tacks, and still independent. Dad drove a '34 Ford 5 window coupe in HS.

I have to 2nd that applause.
Having been a On scene leader and Repair locker leader in several fires and flooding situations...that footage which I first viewed in Basic and still to this day sends chills up my spine. Excellent job maintaining the vessal when the shit hit the fan.
