hi,people, i'm looking to fit firestone white walls on my project pop! what width wheel would look best with this choise of tire? the supplier suggests 7-8" steels but what do you guy think... 6"? did some searching.. but did'nt find much help!
Back in the day most cars had 6 inch rims and I put many Atlas Bucrons 820X15 on them and we never had any problems. Later on 7 inch rims came out and we started experimenting with reversing them and they also worked well and looked better-Always had progressive changes with the times and still happening in 2009.
I wouldn't go any larger than 6 inch. What stud pattern are they for as I have a cheap pair of '53 F100 wheels 5 on 5 1/2.Not certain on width but would guess at 5 or 5 1/2 wide. Cheers, Mark
Run a 5 inch wheel with the 8.20s. They will give you the correct look. As a rule of thumb, wheel size should be as close to tread width as possible.
thanks everyone for your suggestions, looks like im looking for some 6" steels, which are a lot easier for me to fine here in the uk anyway.
