So i'm driving down the south side,and this thing p***es me!!!! Didn't know til later that it was (correction!)Docauto...







Found it later,minus the potatos,LOL....It came by quite a few times last night with the lamp lit up...

Okay,I saved the best for last!!! Mercules and I saw this thing pulling in,but couldn't find it! The guy drove it off the trailer and disappeared!
I finally found it,back on the trailer,late last night...
Mercules friend said it never held a record,but it said "LAND SPEED RECORD CAR" on the side. Anybody know any history on it???

By the way...The Scandinavian Belly-tanker went 203 yesterday! Which put him in the 200mph club at El Mirage! His wife got behind the wheel today,but I didn't get to see her run. Did anybody see if she ran 200 also?

Also-Sorry I missed you Lucky! I had to leave early,about 11am. I was heading back on 138 when you text'd me. Guess i'll have to get with you next season...

Had a great time and plan on making as many meets as I can next year.

Thanks for the photos. I love that you take more pictures of the race cars! You should let me know you are out there next time. You don't have to sleep in your car! I have a place for you. Just contact me. I had another guy who sleeps in his car, crash in the bunk bed in our trailer. It was cold out there!

 

It was low 30's in my truck last night! Not much room to sleep in a standard cab,hahaha!

 

Yeah you and a few other guys are hard core. It is bad enough inside a trailer with the wind going through the windows and side walls, let alone inside the cab of a truck. I have a rig I keep at Calloway's and if I am not out there you can bring it out and use it. It is an old chevy truck with a camper shell. Full camo, named Rommel. The floors are pretty gone from its bonneville days but she usually starts right up and is a good place to sleep. Just get a hold of me before you go out and I can set it up for you.

Thanks SO much! That was a great article. I remember seeing it as a kid somewhere,magazine,or maybe even in person. But I knew I had seen it before right when I saw it pulling in at El Mirage. It was a sight to see!

wow mazooma you seriously must have been standing right next to me when you took some of those early morning shots on the starting line. i was right there went derek was lowering his canopy down and when willie was getting on his bike. crazy. nice shots btw.

yes the brew 102 car is the huntimer car. yes, eric hanson got into the 2 club and his wife took a pretty fast sub-200 ride. it was a good meet overall but ******* was it cold and windy and dirty on sunday.

 

It did when I was out there in June...

The reason I ask is that he bought that 223 from me. He sent me a couple of videos... all he did to it was unbolt the 4 speed, throw on a new intake (and exhaust, I think) and carb and run it. That 223 was a pull from an early 60s Ford pickup - never rebuilt to my knowledge.
