made some bumperettes for the car today, , , cut the top portion off of a 56 olds rear bumper. . .i needed it to wrap around the end of the quarter under the taillight,,using a left and right i spliced them together, , , worked out beautifully, , i still need to fab up some mounting brackets and grind and file it, but heres some step by step pics of how it turned out, , ,for some reason the pics came out in a wacky order, but im sure you guys will figure it out

Now that's slick. Almost too easy...

By the way, a helpfull hint: Don't grind down your welds, let the chrome shop do it. They will charge you more if you grind em. I learned that one the hard way..

    Nice work, -Abone.

Nice touch. Definately compliments the rear of the car. Everytime I see a new progress thread for this car I just know something cool is going on.

Definately the top HAMB build going. You could get lost in all those details. I never get tired of looking at this car.

Kustom7777 - The bumperettes work and flow with the style of the car, looks like the car has that '50's rocket ship jet airplane look. Very cool.

  25. Alright...so, as long as you don't post finished pics here first, it is still eligible for the Riddler Award?
Seriously man, this baby has come a long way.
By the way, the skirts cleaned up the lines on the side perfectly.

    Very, very cool!

The answer is no, not for the Ridler (one D). Troy's shop showed the frame only publicly on a car last year (the Buick from WI I think it was) which made him ineligble.

    Sweet! Love the bumperette idea...

  29. I thought it was one D.
Spell check doesn't like it either way.
Keep up the progress. This car is a milestone.
