Just picked up this '32 Ford yesterday. Bought it last weekend but needed a friend to trailer it home. Car has not been driven for 1.5 years but seems very complete. Real solid car and all steel. I believe the car has only 87k miles.

I am also nervous and overwhelmed as this is my first real project of this size. I did post earlier today about getting it running and thank everyone for their help.

I am sure over the next couple months I will have tons of questions.

    Check out these pics!

awesome. Spend time and think about what to do, before you do it! It is a nice car as it is! Have fun with it before you make too many changes.

Plan is to get it running and safe and drive as is. Clean it up, hopefully paint the front fenders. Then enjoy.

Maybe down the road put a flatty in it (I have a 59AB in the garage). But who knows.

    first things first.

Yes! Change those headlights. Any suggestions where to get some. I have to decide what to put on it, but I've seen some commercial ones I like.

    V-8 was an optional motor.

    Congratulations,,I Love the car,but I have a weekness for 32 4 doors,,

Bob Drake has a kit to rebuild the headlights and keep them original looking. HRP

  20. Listen to SR he knows his 32's and my opinion is to leave it alone. How many stock 32's are left? I bet its a very small club if every owner joined. Whats real cool is that it still has almost all the original parts that I can see. B motors are stout runners as seen with it still in the car. Please think before you act on this one. Use restraint please, there are other candidates out there that are in worse shape to be had for less $$$ to build a hellava hot rod outta and you will be dollars ahead as this one is a restoration candidate that I see.-Weeks

it needs a flattie 8 in it now.

  25. No Bob where do you think B motors came from. Henry designed the B motor with quite a bit more horsepower for 32'. A bit was then again redesigned for 33-34. The B motor was produced through 34 if I am not mistaken. Then there are the infamous Diamond blocks that were used in industrial applications and as replacement engines in cars also. The diamond production from as best as I can tell stopped in 40'-41' sometime as did the A diamond production. The serial number tags on diamond engines also tell the year they were made in the last digit. I have seen 1 as the last digit before so that makes me think they did make them through 41' but I do not know for sure. Remember I am just a dumb 24 year old here so please correct me HAMB-gods as I know some of my info is probably mixed.-Weeks

  26. Congrats...that 32 is the ****z.....You'll get a lot of help here.

Wow, great find. Would love to here the story and history. Where did you find it? Who has owned it? etc. etc. I'm alway curious about the history of these kind of finds.

Years ago one of the magazines did a road test comparison of a 32 B and 32 V8. In acceleration, the 4 would smoke the V8 up to about 50 mph and then it was all V8 tail lights after that. A guy might put a flattie in it I guess, but one that correct, I'd have to leave everything un-disturbed and keep the original stuff in case somebody next watch wants to put it back.
