The wheels I believe are 18", that sounds right? Tires are completely dry rotted, so will have to be replaced.

I may replace the wheels with 15" or 16" wires. I like 40 wheels as well. Also I do want to lower the car with a drop axle eventually. Sorry guys no chop for me. I could not cut the body up.

Even if I change the wheels out for a different look, I will keep the 18's just in case I want to go back to stock. Have no plans to get rid of any original parts.

Love the photo shop job, wish I knew how to use that program. Car looks cool the way you did it, but I don't think I would ever chop it.

7. 32 model "B". Dad had one in '74, bought it for 200 bucks, would cruise good at 60mph. That car was perfect.

If this 32 has some damage to the bottom tip of the right rear fender, I know the car. It was sitting in a garage in Yardley,Pa. for the longest time. The lady that owned it saw my friend Les working on an A coupe, pulls in the driveway and says she has a car like that and wants to sell it. Chris buys it. It was real dirty from sitting in the garage for years. Chris sold it later for a motorcycle.

Bob Bauder has an awesome WHITE four door. Unchopped. Low, it is awesome. Limey Steve's is by far my favorite. I love the 5 spokes on his sedan. They are just nice practical cars and great with a family. Your wife will ride in it and not get her hair messed up. The kids will love the back seat and it is much nicer than a rumble seat on a cruise night. There are alot of hop up pieces for the 4 banger and as the others report, are quite quick and reliable. Very easy to work on and less complicated. For a guy with a family this will be a blessing. Just my 2 cents worth.

32ford5,

I just PM'd you. Wish I knew how to use photoshop. I loved the look of the chop you did, but really don't have the heart to cut this car up. The body is really nice.

I bought it out of North Jersey from the owners wife. Her husband p***ed away a year ago and she decided to sell the car. From looking at the finished cars she had he looked to be a great car builder.

They owned this '32 since 1987 and it was in their garage ever since they bought it. He drove it as you see it to local shows up until about 1.5 years ago (she said).

That is the history I have on it.

21. Dear Mr. vinman12 (is that what your friends call you?),

You found the car I was looking for when I bought mine about 15 years ago. I ended up with a 4 cylinder deluxe 4 door with about 100K more miles than yours. I wish I could clean mine up and drive it (it is setting the garage waiting for me to find the time to restore it). Since you don’t list any other cars on your profile I am going to risk insulting you with a few random thoughts from someone that has been around the block once.

<O:p</O:p
Your car appears to be an early 4 cylinder standard car. I would restore it as such. Most of them were “restored” as deluxe V8 cars so a 4 cylinder standard stands out (plus it costs slightly less to restore). If you want a little more power add a bit of mild speed equipment to the banger. Look for speed equipment advice in the Model A section of fordbarn.com.

People you should know: Richard Lacy, (626) 338-2282, earlyv8@aol.com. Richard makes a kit to allow you to mount a master cylinder for hydraulic brakes using the original brake and clutch pedals. Should you convert to hydraulic brakes? That depends on how you intend to use the car.

Companies you should know: Model Engineering Company (MEC), (330) 644-3450. They make a lot of ’32 parts that I don’t think are available elsewhere, that is to say they don’t wholesale to the other dealers.

22. Just a couple of more thughts:

Companies you should know: Uvira, (541) 474-5050. This company replates headlight reflectors in case you decide to change those beautiful headlights. They remind me of the eyes of a monster in a late night horror movie. They use a process involving aluminum instead of silver. Before you write this off as a bad joke this technology is used for medical mirrors and for mirrors in space satellites. These guys use the process because it is the best not because it is the cheapest. Down side is you will probably have to plate your reflectors with nickel (?) before you send them to UVIRA (call and ask). If it was me I would go this approach using original reflectors based on what the Model A guys say about the incorrect shapes of the reproduction reflectors. If some time in the future you go to 12 volts (people always like to change things for the sake of change) get the “brite” bulbs from Ron Francis Wire Works (800) 292-1940, wire-works.com. They will go right into the original sockets and give you more light than you can imagine (thus you didn’t waste money getting those reflectors replated).

Things you should know: If you stick with the 6 volt system (and there is nothing wrong with doing that) be sure all of your grounds are clean and the battery cables are the correct, larger size, required for 6 volts.

One question, what is the serial number of your car (x out the last couple of digits)?

Hi Charlie,

Friends call me Vinnie.

Thanks for all the contacts, I am definately going to print this thread and keep all the useful information. This is my first car older than a 60's vehicle. All my cl***ics have been from the 60's. My interest changed to early Fords a while back so I have a lot to learn.

Plans, at least for now, are to keep the 4 cyl.

My 12 year old daughter and I washed it in the garage last night. It was her idea and it shined up nicely.

Vinnie, You are really scaring me!
I am the other Vinnie with a nice 32 B maroon Fordor!

I am really excited for you too. Don't do anything rash. Don't cut it, or make any irreversible changes. It is way too nice and umolested as is. Think about it a while.
