Hey guy's , just wondering what you all think is the BEST , not necessarily the easiest way to drop a 53 Chevy 210 (2 door) in the weeds. Clip / no clip, mustang 2, c-notch/or not, or any other bright idea's????
Blocks/dearched springs in the back with a c-notch. Cut coils and/or drop spindles up front. Remember airbags, clips, and frame swaps are gay.
I just took off 2 1/2 coils and made 4" blocks for the rear. U-bolts were the only cost. Fatman upper a-arms and a c-notch are scheduled for later this winter. I have a new air-ride system but cant bring myself to put it on.
Fatman dropped uprights and steering arms, cut coils up front; blocks in back. Very nice looking Chevy. Needs wide whites............
Air bags are not traditional in any way shape or form ! Learn to cut the springs and make some lowering blocks ! Now that's the way to do it right ! RetroJim
Yeah, pretty much. I had a clipped truck once, it was gay, I felt gay driving it, and it looked gay. I sold it, so I'm not gay anymore. Never again.

It probably depends to some degree how and where you plan to drive the car - while bags aren't traditional it's hard to ignore their practicality when you need to cross speed bumps or get in a sloped driveway. And I really have no idea which ones handle best. I figure it's a custom, you're not supposed to look underneath it anyways, build it how you like.

Fuck 50's,try as far back as the late 30's,granted air ride was in it's experimental stages. We've been through this road before,and it's the same blow hards every time that swear it's not traditional to bag a custom,even though I have pics saved of an article from 1959 showing and describing how to adapt a Cadillac air ride setup from '58 to just about any car and make it work.
And neither is using a computer and/or the internet!!!! BTW,alot of cars in the `50`s had air-ride from the factory.
strap a dead moose to the hood , and cruise with a couple fun big girls in the back! works like a mullett , business in the front , party in the back!
If that doesn't kill off the "Not traditional" argument,then I guess the inventors that came up with it never existed,and neither did the magazines or the cars that used it,like the lat '57-'59 Cadillac's did from the factory.
4 link and bags you'll have full control and ride nice it doesn't have to be a fast bag kit im using 3/8 lines for control not to hop on a dime. Air bags are not traditional, next time you want to send a friend a message don't email him, or call him be traditional and mail him a letter then wait for him to mail back a reply lol
The Galaxie I picked up is running 1/4" lines and moves pretty quick. Actually,if you have the right compressor/tank setup with the right solenoids/valves,1/4" should be just fine.
