That is sad. I hope he beats the cancer. Hopefully a lot of people show up to help the cause at the fundraiser.

It's always sad to see a child with cancer. My daughter also had cancer at the age of 7. Fortunately we live in a time where many of these cancers have a high cure rate. When I was a child, there was basically no cures for these nasty diseases. My daughter is now doing great 12 years later.

My prayers are with you and your family,

    Doug

32, good luck to you. As mentioned before, I wish your grandson the best. Disease and illness is never easy to deal with. I am sorry to hear your going through a rough time now. My mother beat cancer, but is not dealing with a disease that there is no cure for C.B.G.D (form of parkinsons), really*****s and makes me wonder why the criminals and wrong doers are the ones that last. These are the people that should get the life threating disease and leave a common cold to good people in this world.
All the best wishes. Good luck and keep up posted.

I hate to hear this. I had a bone tumor in my leg when I was 13, lost the leg but I've been cancer free ever since. Cancer treatments have come a LOOONG way since then, hopefully this young man will have some better luck.

Hello everyone, your response is overwhelming. There is a benifit scheduled for Dec.5th, 2009 at the Rocheau Center at 808 Lucas St. in Algona, Iowa from 12-4. They are having a silent auction, a live auction, a raffle for a big screen tv, bake sale and I believe they are roasting a couple of hogs. We have a trust fund set up at the Iowa Stata Bank , 5 E. Call St, Algona Iowa 50511 (515-295-3595) . The name of the trust fund is Ethan Fairbanks Trust Fund. We also have a carepage up and running at www.carepages.com , his page is called Ethantylerscarepage. Type it just like that and it will work. Today Ethan had a visitor. If you are a wrestling fan, you will know this name. Dan Gable and his wife stopped to visit with him today. Dan Gable was the head coach at Iowa for years and was an olympic gold medalist. Ethan is a wrestling fan. Thanks again for all the kind comments and support. It will be a long road to travel , but I believe with all the prayers and help from god, it is a challenge we can overcome. Thanks again, Dennis "GO ETHAN"

Cancer is such a drag kids should never get it but I'm afraid they do. I'm a two time survivor but I'm an old guy who got to have his chance. Best of luck Ethan.
