I probably know the answer to this...but do the concession stands sell beer?? They could make some $ off me :)

Back home and sunburned. Lots bigger than last year. Better pricing, too. Bought a pair of bucket seats from a HAMBer and the usual ***ortment of tools. There was a later Corvette with no motor for $3K.

Went to meet for the first time Friday. I covered the entire grounds by noon. I was only looking for one thing though and it is easy to spot. I had no luck finding it though. Decent swap meet with a strong Chevy Favor. Car corral was decent. Some outrageous prices for the quality. I meet and talked to 48FordNut. Pretty nice guy. All in good meet not sure I would travel to again unless I was hunting bowtie stuff. Hope everybody that went had a good time.

  6. went, had fun, bought some ford stuff and even found some mopar parts.

Thanks for the couple of Hambers that stopped by B 74. had a good chat. Really good thurs and fri, but sat was a flop. I did sell the items I really wanted to. There will be a moultrie sized 1 st time swap meet at the national fairgrounds in Perry ga, just off I 75 in april 09 ,2,3 . I know the people putting on the show and they know swap meets. should be good. They are working on one that will be a week before moultrie , for the people on the circuit. thanks to all that came by.

Good meet. Walked about 20 go-jillion miles and saw some good deals and of course some of the "what-the-hell-are-you-smokin-prices".

The best I would say was a supposed '65 Vette 350hp 327 that was missing the carb, air cleaner, distributor, pulleys, all accessories, all brackets and had the wrong balancer for the asking price of $2250. It didn't even have a claim of a fresh rebuild or anything! Maybe I just have no idea what **** is worth, but that seemed a tad bit over priced to me.

I did see a good package deal on a complete, running '52 Lincoln engine with a "freshly" rebuilt trans, a complete 235 Chevy with trans and a trailer to haul it all home for the asking price of $1100 and the guy was willing to talk price too. Oh well... like I need two more engines.

I stopped at the famous BenD's Fri with my camera and autograph book but he was out shopping, damn my luck.

  11. I was there Friday. I walked all over the place. It's got to where going through the buildings are a waste of time. Nothing but clothes and toys. I went in and out and didn't get anything but 2 hats. Saw what I thought was a T-85 transmission that had an ear broke off and was really nasty and I wish I'd have asked how much it was. At the two meets last year I came out with 2 T-89's. It took 2 to make one good one. The car corral, well I've got a take on that. I think the guys just treat it like a car show and they put some outrageous price on their car and if somebody takes it OK and if they don't OK. I mean there were prices that would make Barrett Jackson look like a ghetto! Anyway, went there, will go to Daytona to Turkey Rod Run..

Couldnt have said it better. I skipped this year. After the one this past Feb, I was really dissapointed. Very little early stuff, alot of fuff, toys shirts, etc. Ill be at the Turkey run, hope that is better, but apparently this will be the first year its open to all, not just the HAMB friendly crowd.

I still think Pomona in Cali is one of the best.

The guy I work for called last night about nine, he was on his way back from the swap meet. He sold his 70 Chevelle and swaped the 69 Camaro for a truck and some cash. Bought up a bunch of stuff we always need, Zip ties , ziz wheels ..that kind of stuff. Well the weather was perfect Saturday for the meet. Today here in Atlanta is cold as Hell and raining. Wish I would have been about to go, but I thought it best to show a flew ridden wife some love.

Thanks for all the response guys, it was a great turn-out for the muscle car crowd, not much model A stuff, and very little duece stuff as well. I did see a 32 center member for $750.00, he was proud of the pup!

I agree with AIrborne about the two building not a whole lot of value going thru them. I did get a chance to talk to the one air conditioning company, NAP who was inside. Any open swapmeet is a good thing. I just didnt find what I was looking for. Still had a good time.

  16. Had a fun time- got a chance to make a few new HAMB aquaintances (great to meet you guys!) and picked up a few things (chopsaw and a '28 Chevrolet headlight).

Lots of ridiculous prices, but some good bargains as well.

  17. Well, did ya get Brian's(Kustom52) autograph while you were there? I hear it's worth just as much as Ben's......:D

I know this is way past the moultrie meet, another one is coming up in feb 2k10. I was surprised at there being only one hamber that stopped at my booth. Some others may have but no one else identified their selves. the april 2,3 meet in perry at the national fair grounds is 2010, for the person that thought it had p***ed. should be a great show.

This is my take it on also. One guy posted on this thread that he had been going for 5 years or so, and still hadn't seen it all. I can walk the Moultrie swap in 3-4 hours. I am shopping for Early Ford stuff, and I get cruise right by all the obvious muscle car/chevy stuff.

The 28-48 Ford stuff seems to be thinning out in general in the southeast - the turkey run was light on that stuff, as was sumter county/webster this past Sunday...

Yeah Tim me and you had the same experience.

48FordNut got me a set of doors. I went to the GreyHound Depot in Nashville and picked them up this morning when I got off work. Going to open the box and check them out :D
