Well, I guess Storm Warning ought to get in here with the rest of the AWB's. If all goes well, we should have her on the street by year end! There's a Storm a brewin'!

For fans and owners of altered wheelbase cars. I'll be having "Match Race Madness" parings and exhibitions of these special cars at my upcoming 8th annual Nostalgic Show & Go! at Speedworld Dragstrip outside of Phoenix this April 9-11. If you want to come out, let me know and I'll get you paired up for a VERY exciting gathering with these types of cars. These cars will get lots of attention and you can do as many dry hops, burn throughs, wheel stands, launches, etc as you wish before each run! It's time to have an event to relive those exciting days of yester year! I even hope to have my own AWB car done by then too. If not, it'll at least be on display. well. since the definition of an AWB car is meaning just any old car with an altered wheelbase, then this must qualify as one, too...
I think you have a cool Comet there! What motor? I have a good friend with an injected '64 Comet. However, it is not considered an altered wheelbase car. It would be considered a stretched wheel base instead. agree anyone? Steve Hosting- Pontiac/Buick/Olds FALL FEST Sat Nov 28, 2009 Phoenix www.pbofallfest.org 8th annual Nostalgic Show & Go! I just got an email from Steve,... it'll be out after the first of the year. It's being published by CarTech books
Steve .060 over 351W airgap single plane intake 2.05/1.60 alum. heads small blower cam long tube fenderwell headers T-5, 4.56 locker. heads intake and headers port matched . If I could just aford the blower set up! I'm altering the car one thing at a time just like the original was done. I may only do 4" forward on the rear because I don't like the looks of the way the Ford racers did the wheel opening on the A/FX cars.
I have some color video of the Iowa Shaker in a match race with the Ramchargers. They're doing burn throughs in the rosin and Hubert is pulling the wheels with the door open. Cool stuff. Hubert put on a better show but the Ramchargers won the race. It was more 'modern' with the front end down and went straight as an arrow. Hubert was carrying the wheels and bouncing all over. Exciting to watch but not the quickest way down the track. Cool stuff indeed.
