Please don't do the satin black, wide whites, red wheel thing..I never respond to these kind of posts, but if that pulled into my parking lot looking like that,my impression of it wouldn't even get me outside to look at it.If it pulled in,sounded healthy, sat a little lower, button caps, and beefy blackwalls, and dark shiney paint,I'd be expecting a real badass car,and wouldn't give a shit that it was a 4 door.

How about glossy red metal flake, maybe some lace or patterns on the roof, supremes/pinners, and slammed. If you want to go the flat black, red wheel route, you could have just bought a Chevette.

Shave, molded seams including C pillar sail panels to 1/4 panels, tuck
& roll shiny paint & wheels and drive...
    '64, it's close enough...

This is what I'd start with!!! Smooth it out a little and work on a complete primer job, or at least all one color.

I agree! As well thin white walls, not wide whites...too new of a car for them. Maybe chrome wheels w/baby moons. Go for the mid-late 60's custom look.

Dont sweat the 4 door aspect.Ihave a 4door 37 ford my self . Iam getting ready to paint it in a gloss color real soon The guy with the photo shop is on the rigt track. If it must be suede pic something original not the black red thing, its way too over done. If its not going to be outside 24/7 base coat without clear works well and opens your color options.

Yep shave the handles. Flake the roof or some lace. Narrow white walls and some chrome reverse or ? Keep it simple.

  13. This is my old 63 Belair, I bought it as a stocker, lowered it 3 inches with shorter springs from Ecklers, put it on 2.5" (?) whitewalls and black powder coated wheels. If I'd kept it, I'd added a white metalflake roof maybe. But maybe not.

thanks for all the responses, I will take it all in and start from there thanks again.. Definetly not doing the fat white walls I'll keep it with the thin whites and slam it later decide on the paint scheme, once the body is all taken care of....

    That's a 64.

  18. I agree with the pinner whites. Supremes or chromed steelies. That square body style SCREAMS for a nice scallop job ala Watson. Like this:

    Here's a '64 Two door I put together...two toned, shaved, five spokes, blakwalls and slammed...ran a 350" and a 'glide...

Please don't do the flat blak...it's boring...and doesn't add a thing to the car.

Heres my 63 Belair 4dr. Its the stock faded out paint a nice stance via air ride, 3" wide white on 15" steel wheels, and lots a pin striping. Im going to paint it Hot Rod Flatz seafoam green with a white bassboat flake roof some day

I don't like more doors on anything except the '49-'51 Mercury's. So for me, I'd be doing a little cosmetic surgery. It's not that tough to turn a 4-door into a 2-door. That'd be the best thing you could do for that car.

My brother recently sold a '63 Biscayne four door green in color, totally stock. My suggestion was to bag it and wear it out. It had the same wheels and tire combo yours has. I felt like it needed nothing else to be cool. If it were me I'd keep it low buck and the mods minimal and drive it, thats always been the most fun for me. Enjoy it!

Just curious. Whats wrong with red painted steel wheels? And is it just red thats not "cool" or any color like green, silver, white,so on?

Well the idea on this particular ride is not to dump to much money on it, I just need something to cruise and represent the old american tin style, this is defirntly gonna be a driver not an everyday cruiser, just something that I can take out on the weekends, put my baby in the back seat and cruise this retired filled town... Damn I miss Califas..!

    thanks for the responses thou...

There is nothing wrong with painted steel wheels, its just that everyone does the red. I personaly like the red wheels but would never do it now because of the fact that it is sooo over done.
