I almost forgot, the swapmeet area is good, but only if your looking for diecast models of non-HAMB cars. For some reason, the swapmeet is always a disappointment for me.

  8. This is my 40th year for the Houston Autorama. The place is packed full of cars and the extra activities this year is a plus to help mark the 50th anniversary of the event and the Millwinders success!

    Fred,
I saw you standing in front of the NonStockPhotography booth, but by the time I hobbled over, you had gone.

Hope your T is coming back together!!!

You should have thrown something at me!:D I stayed a lot longer than I usually do. As I said before, it was really great to see cars from people I had either met or knew from the HAMB. I may go again Sunday just for something to do.

My car is in the Hellions booth, I took my 53 chevy instead of my orange truck.
My 53 is light blue, plenty of rust, and no hood, it sits very low, I have my H.A.M.B. tag on the firewall...I should be hanging around the car.

  15. Watch him, he's a card sharp!:D

  16. Still hoping that someone gets some good pictures of El Tiki at the Houston AutoRama before the weekend is over.

    Thanks,

I went for a lil bit friday, I havent been to a houston auorama in 10 years, Guess I got spoiled by the old astro hall and arena days, was dissapointed and left, Eh just a few months til Round Up and that'll make it all better

  22. Thanks for the pictures. I will color copy this thread and put them in the scrapbook for posterity.

Just curious, what was at the table and chairs in the right side of the last picture?
One show down and 10 more to go. The roadster comes back home sometime in April 2010.

All I got was this shot. Sorry my point and shoot stinks.
I don't think that table was there through the whole show.

You're so right... It's a good show but not anywhere as cool as it was at the Astrodome complex... Sometimes people should leave well enough alone...LOL

Very good observation. Everytime I go to a show at GRB, I can't help but miss the Astro Hall days. I'm not sure what it is, but the Astro Hall always seemed like it was made for that show.

I'm gonna say it's because the AD had several smaller areas with cool stuff hidden instead of everything stuck in one big area. And always had a swapmeet that matched the show area and often was more of a priority than the show...

I couldn't agree more , the swapmeet at the George Brown is more like an arts and craft show. I miss the old dome show.:(
